He had great ideas on this project for plants, ground cover and watering. We used his ideas versus what we originally thought, since they made more sense. The company kept us informed on where we were in the schedule and were prompt. We made a last minute change to add one additional plant and the field supervisor took care of it that day. They cleaned up nicely from their work and the field crew were all very friendly. Kevin Ramos was the only one who answered her email, and the on-line reviews of Kevin were good, so we worked with him. Kevin is friendly, very communicative by email and phone, responsive to our questions and concerns, flexible with scheduling house visits, and he made time to be available within our schedule. He showed us essentially all of the houses that we wanted to see, and when we made a choice to make an offer, he provided drafts of the offer by email, and when we settled on the final version, he used an electronic system for us to sign the documents. This was an effective and efficient mechanism to review the offers and counteroffers. Since we were out of town during the purchase process, Kevin arranged for the home inspections, attended the inspections for us and worked with the sellers to have the necessary repairs done. Kevin also recommended Sarah Whitlock, mortgage loan consultant of New Mexico Bank and Trust, to work with us to get the mortgage. Sarah is very knowledgeable, responsive to our questions (by phone and email), and she facilitated our obtaining the mortgage in a timely manner. After closing, it took us several months to move to the new house, and Kevin took care of things at the house for us (watering outside plants, etc.). After we moved in, Kevin showed us the special things that the seller explained to him about house care. We offered Kevin a tip for handling these things for us, but he refused. To sum up, Kevin Ramos is a very effective agent who knows the Albuquerque market and worked hard in our behalf. He is easy to work with, he addressed our questions and concerns in a timely manner, and facilitated our purchase of the home through his contacts and knowledge of the process. We very highly recommend Kevin Ramos; he is a person you can trust and depend on.

The appointment lasted approximately two hours and included measuring the property, going through a database of pictures for plants, rocks, etc., and drawing up a rough draft of what the areas would look like. About a week later, I recevied the computerized sketches with the estimates. Due to his non-availability, even if I wanted to hire him, he could not start until the spring of 2014. I thought the timing of the Big Deal was a waste of time as it would be 7 - 8 months before I could have any of the landscaping started. By next spring, I'll have found another "deal" that would probably be far less expensive. Nice enough guy, but quote was very high and he's too busy right now to take on new business. It took two days to complete the job. The most challenging part of the job was laying the flagstones which were set in crusher fines. They planted six 5 gal plants and ten 1 gal plants and installed the drip irrigation for the plants as well. My husband and I are both very happy with the results.

"I hired them to build a brick sidewalk with bricks that I had from a previous sidewalk. Overall the sidewalk looks good except instead of a gradual slope there is a low spot that puddles when it rains or the sprinklers are run. After agreeing on the additional bricks I knew I needed I purchased the additional bricks Then they told me I needed 21 more. These were never used and I still have them. They didn’t clean up the site well. There’s small piles of sand that were left."

LIC # 33557 Full service landscape company with more than 28 years in business. Horticulturist/owner. Over the past 30 years I have learned a lot. At New Mexico State University I was educated in Horticulture and Landscape Design. Under the Horticultural program we learned about Agronomy ( soils) , Entomology( insects) , Biology, Chemistry , Pathology ( diseases). Everthing that was needed to be a Professional. Sure I have my education but I've learned so much from my hands on experience. Many years ago when I started Summersweet Landscapes. Other landscapers would ask me. "Do you need a degree to do landscaping"? I answered " no you don't , but I do". I started Landscape Design when I was in high school. I was trained by a Horticulturist also from N.M.S.U. He taught us that the Horticultural field was a professional one. And that the industry should be respected as one. Professional. He had all students join Future Farmers of America. It was mandatory , inorder; to be enrolled in his class. We went through competition in design. In my last two years of high school competition I was on both District and State Landscape Design Championship team. I graduated with both high school diploma and two year vocational technical certificate in Horticulture. After high school I attended N.M.S.U. where I got my Bachelor in Science Degree in Agriculture. Thank you Eric and Carmela.
"We recently moved to NM and the yard at our home was neglected for a few years. The backyard needed to be cleaned up (including removing a few bushes and an old clothesline), a new irrigation system installed, and beds prepared for a variety of plants I want to install. Eric and his crew from Summersweet were excellent! I interviewed several landscapers and only Eric listened to what I wanted, offered his expert advice (his knowledge was gained thru both formal education and practical experience), and delivered what we agreed to have done! The Summersweet crew was hardworking and professional - it helped that I speak some Spanish. Carmela pleasantly and professionally handles all the behind the scenes logistics. Everything was done professionally and on time."

FAQs for plant watering projects in Tome, NM
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
