Customers say: Quality work

"Those guys are artists. You think that anybody could put in stucco on the side of the house, but it’s not. I needed to rebuild the top of my parapet walls, which is where the water had the potential of leaking in and they just did a phenomenal job on that. I am extremely happy that I used them."

"Install a Central Air Conditioning System Professional and efficient and great follow up with any problems taken care of immediately. Very thorough in the install and explaining the system afterwards. Job was done in 1 day and system is working great. They also corrected a problem with the thermostat which was causing the whole house to feel muggy. It was a pleasure working with them from the quote thru the completed install - definitely recommend."

"Crystal, the office manager, Sergio, the business owner and foreman, and all his workers were absolutely Outstanding in every catagory. After we initally began our project, we had to stop work on the project for several weeks. Crystal and Sergio did not complain and actually went out of their way to accomodate us. They worked their schedule until we were able and ready to continue. They were very thorough, clean, and happy to work with us and any weather related issues. Their finished work was beautiful and exactly as promised. I would completely recommend Duran Plastering to anyone and I did to my Son-In-Law for his home."

"A house in our neighborhood (Taylor Ranch) had a beautiful stucco finish -- and a Western Wall sign in front. That was the kind of look I wanted, so I contacted Cesar and Nora Grajeda. From our first meeting, I felt I was dealing with honest, hard-working people who knew their business and wanted to do a quality job. They gave us a clear, detailed estimate and explained exactly how the work would be done -- and what materials they would use. As the owner of a flat-roof Southwestern home, I was especially impressed with how our parapets would be rebuilt with mesh fabric and sealer before the synthetic color coat was applied. Cesar was confident this stucco project would seal out water -- and that made me confident, too. We negotiated a fair price and they started the job the following week. The work crews that arrived were very respectful to us as homeowners and careful how they did the job. They communicated a few things we could do -- for example, trimming back a cactus -- to help. In addition to the parapet work, they sealed cracks and areas around all the doors and windows. Again, I felt this would help keep our home water-tight. We had a full range of color options, and Cesar and Nora brought over a sample square to show us exactly how it would look, confirming our choice. The color coat is bright and beautiful with a perfectly consistent sand texture -- a work of art, in my opinion. Clean-up was very thorough and the crew actually improved my two gates by re-attaching the hinges better than they were before. Cesar offered to install new lights free of charge, so we bought a nice pair of security lights at Costco for the front, completing the look. We are very happy the way the project turned out. I highly recommend this company."

Small jobs welcome

"It's complicated. Shai opted to go for the restucco job during the winter when we were having a nice warm period, but that ended up being a bad move as it rained heavily that night. The stucco was washed down by the rain in various areas and the paint ended up staining my window panes. The problems start at this point, as I struggled to get the repair work done. I only wanted it to be very good work, but eventually that ended up making me push for Shai to take responsibility. They did do some of the repair work, but after feeling beaten down, I just said "yeah, it's good" in order to be free from the experience. If I didn't feel belittled by Shai, I would have stayed focused. But it's just not worth the stress to push a contractor to do very good work, because I shouldn't have to push. I am someone who has pretty high standards, but that's why I research so hard to find a good provider. This started off fine, it ended up very painful and sad. The thing that Shai is quick and thorough about is getting paid, but other elements involve unnecessary struggles (like having him watch his crew and push his crew rather than have the customer do it)."

"Blessed Town Construction did a wonderful job! I had them extend a driveway and front porch, and weld and install a metal fence at my parent's house. They did such a great job, so clean, so quick, so thorough! I would absolutely recommend them and I will use them again."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.
