"I have used Mike's Computer Repair for several years now, and have always been extremely satisfied. Mike is very trustworthy so I never have to worry about turning over "control" of my computer to him. I have called on Mike numerous times when I mess up something on the computer and he quickly takes care of my mistakes and doesn't act like I'm an idiot. I highly recommend using Mike."

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

"Went very well.....scheduled appointment at my convenience, was on time, and worked very quickly.  Showed what work he did.  I waited a couple of weeks before submitting this report to make sure I had no further issues.   Computer works fine and problem resolved.  I would use My Computer Buddy again.
Very professional.....explained everything he was going to do.

"I had spent several frustrated days trying to fix two computer problems, and finally gave up and called Geek Choice. Matt arrived at my doorstep about 2 hours later (not making this up), and had both problems solved in about an hour (not making that up either). Both problems resisted his early solutions, but he was cheerfully determined to make things right, and was effectively inventive in doing so. (How to make my printer work with Windows 10? Install the Windows 7 Driver instead...)
In addition to his technical competence, Matt gets high points for his professionalism, and his communication. He never made me feel foolish, and was always genial.

"I was very impressed with the service. I am a photography student so I work with a lot of heavy weight programs and very large files. I also do a ton of research along with my school work. After one year of using my brand new laptop for school, I had NO space left on my computer, it was crashing constantly, files were corrupting, and of course, everything was taking forever to load. I called HelloTech for help. They were very understanding of my need for a very complete and fast repair. They were very prompt, diagnosed the issues with my computer, then gave me options on how it could be repaired and modified to accommodate my needs, along with price quotes for each option. Very professional, we worked out a plan that fixed every issue that I had. I am more than happy with my "new" laptop and I would most definitely hire them again!"

Computer Repair questions, answered by experts

In Los Alamos, NM, the average time for computer repair projects varies. Diagnostics often take a day, while software repairs take one to two days. Hardware replacements can extend to two to five days due to the area's isolation, which causes shipping delays for special components. Complex jobs may take up to a week, and local shop capacity can add a one to two-day wait.

Helpful?

Before starting computer repair in Los Alamos, NM, order any necessary components a week in advance to account for shipping delays to this remote location. It's also wise to check the weather forecast and avoid working during electrical storms. Always back up your data first and prepare your workspace with proper lighting and ventilation to prevent surprises or damage from static in the dry air.

Helpful?

For computer repair work in Los Alamos, NM, a seasonal routine is key. In spring, perform a deep clean to remove dust accumulated during winter. In summer, monitor component temperatures and check cooling fans to handle the heat. In fall, inspect for loose connections caused by temperature cycling. Throughout the year, regularly clean dust filters and test your backup power systems to handle local challenges.

Helpful?

Your Los Alamos, NM home is a good candidate for computer repair if it has a climate-controlled workspace and properly grounded electrical outlets, which can be lacking in older local homes. The dry, high-altitude environment creates significant static and dust, so having anti-static capabilities and good ventilation is crucial for protecting sensitive components. These features help prevent common issues related to the area's unique conditions.

Helpful?

For computer repair projects in NM, anti-static equipment like wrist straps and mats is essential due to the state's very dry climate. You should also use high-quality surge protectors or a UPS system to guard against power fluctuations from mountain storms. For cleaning, compressed air is vital for managing the high-desert dust. Thermal paste rated for extreme temperatures is also highly recommended for component cooling.
