"Having had work done in my home from small tasks to significant renovations I have encountered several contractors who perform marginal or substandard work so I decided to source a reputable contractor from Angi. After reading the comments and reviews, I arranged a personal meeting with Mike Melia for my bathroom renovation. Mike responded quickly to evaluate and explore and explain the best options while taking into consideration my handicaps. Throughout the project there was much infrastructure from prior work performed and existing conditions. Mike addressed all structural problems, plumbing and electrical repairs including a new sub panel. Mike has remarkable attention to detail for every aspect of work and he completed the work with a high standard of professionalism with his employees and subcontractors. Mike was on site everyday in constant communication with myself and my insurance company. He was unexpectedly neat and clean throughout the process. This very challenging project could not have gone smoother. He is personally knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. I would highly recommend Mike and his team. I am now using Mike and his team to build a full deck and to make structural repairs to my garage. I hope my experience inspires others to contact Mike Melia when it comes to finding value versus price. "We started out with a budget just for the kitchen to repaint the kitchen cabinets, replace the flooring with porcelain tiles, redo the peninsula, use quartz for the counter tops, add recess lighting, and center the lighting fan. Into the job, based on Harvey's excellent advice, we decided to get new kitchen cabinets, have Harvey and his team build storage cabinets above the new cabinets instead of having a soffit built in that open space. We also had a pantry rebuilt by Harvey and his team as well. Lastly we had the peninsula changed to an island with cabinets added underneath as well. Also, we decided to redo the small (powder) bathroom on the main floor. Harvey and his team were awesome. He was very patient in allowing us to make changes to the original plans that turned out quite outstanding. His team always showed up early for work. The quality of the work was simply outstanding. Instead of half doing things like what we got with the Home Depot contractors in years prior, Harvey and his team took things back to the studs and made sure the things were built the right way. I now feel very confident about what is behind the walls and how the work was done. I will attached pictures of the kitchen and bathroom by next week. We are still putting things back into the new cabinets now and etc. We are extremely happy with the work Harvey and his team did. We intend to use them for a few other projects in the future. If you're really thinking about having work done on your home, I would highly recommend that you speak with Harvey to have his team come to do an amazing job for you as well. "We went with Matt and team for our kitchen remodel and the process could not have been smoother. The project was completed to our standards, on time, and within budget which is really all you can ask for from a contractor. While Matt did not give us the cheapest quote, we found the pricing fair and even asked him to complete some additional projects, like replacing our front door. Matt was professional and easy to work with and told us exactly what needed to be purchased and when which helped keep everyone on track. "I saw JM Contracting working a few blocks away. I asked John to please come by and give me an estimate on creating a deck over an existing patio and a paver walk way. They not only met those expectations, but they far exceeded them. Everyone from Danny (estimator/manger), to Melvin (project/team manager), to the hard working painting crew (consisting of Yimi, Donaldo and Victor) was courteous, professional and conscientious. The painting crew worked tirelessly (even through uncomfortably high temperatures). They meticulously, respectfully and quietly, prepped and painted the house and garage.
