"Dana knew right away that the problem was with the air handler. As it turned out the condensation drip pan had filled up and tripped the over flow switch. PTL for that switch. Dana drained the pan and cleared the drain. All ok now. Thanks for the help. Nice job Dana."

"I was making Thanksgiving dinner and created an impenetrable clog in my kitchen sink drain. Two types of drain cleaners and my pathetic snaking skills did nothing all day Friday. I called A.M. Botte at 8 AM Saturday and their Tech, Mel C., was here in fifteen minutes! He did an amazing, professional job and even gave me a veteran discount (I was pleased to learn that Mel is also a veteran). I would recommend A.M. Botte to anyone needing top-quality service."

"I had a wall in my basement that was filing up with water from runoff outside. The wall started leaking into my basement. The crew jackhammered a trench along the wall in my basement and installed a drainage pipe, fill and a sump pump. They cemented over the trench and it looks like they were never here. Lots of rain since then and my basement is dry. Timely and professional- highly recommend"

"Company provided full service of waterproofing. Sump pump and French drainage system installed. This additional project included optional mold remediation/prevention, which I accepted. They waterproof and sanitized start of mold to prevent it from taking hold and causing this to become a future issue. Timely, professional, punctual and customer service oriented. Did not just have a plan of action, but educated consumer on all aspects of the job beforehand and updated me as progress was made. Both jobs completed ahead of schedule. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company."

"This type of work should be on â dirty jobsâ . These guys worked all day in a pretty awful NJ winter day but kept things as clean as possible, replaced 2 existing sumps with their triple sump and a supersump. Very happy with the install and peace of mind with the battery back up included in the triple sump."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, many modern water pumps are designed with energy efficiency in mind. Look for pumps with high efficiency ratings or those with an Energy Star certification. These pumps consume less power and can reduce your utility bills. Additionally, variable-speed pumps are more efficient since they can adjust the flow based on demand, providing significant savings over time.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

Yes, it’s normal (and beneficial) to have a small amount of water in the bottom of your sump pit. It shows that your system is collecting groundwater, rain, and excess water from around your property—just like it’s supposed to. However, if the sump pit is always full, you might have a leak or a faulty sump pump.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

The most common cause of a clogged sump pump is natural debris buildup. As water enters the sump pit, it can carry small pieces of debris that build up over time, or the debris can get caught in the filter. If you forget to cover the pit after cleaning the sump pump and pit, debris can also collect in the pit. Corrosion on the metal discharge pipe can also clog the pump. Additionally, if your pipes freeze, it can prevent water from draining properly and cause a clog.
