He was very knowledgeable, honest and accomplished the task in a very efficient manner. My wife and I are very please with the results, he gave clear information on how to keep the tile clean. "Andy installed a door for me a year ago so I decided to have him quote me on a deck project last Fall since he does custom home improvements. Based on his fair quote he was hired this Spring and we could not be happier with the results. It is a quite large, partially roofed deck with lighting and custom touches that really make this a fantastic addition to our house. Andy really went out of his way to make sure we got what we wanted...no corners cut, no nickel and diming. So, if you want to bring a custom vision to life, contact Andy and his crew to make it happen!"

"The installers did a fantastic job and worked so hard! Very efficient and they even cleaned up. Im very happy with my new shower tub combo. I forgot to mention that they also had to remove a giant hot tub bath that I hated. Perfect! Thank you so much."

"Brian came to our home to do a tub to shower installation. He was very respectful and reviewed what he would be doing. The project was completed within the time frame we were told. Again, he reviewed what he had done and how to properly care for the shower. It really looks great and we are looking forward to using it. Thank you Brian and rite window team. Respectfully Leslie Greeley Brewster Ma"

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

By code, the smallest a bathroom can be is 60 inches wide by 56 inches deep to be considered accessible. An area of 16 to 20 square feet is enough to accommodate a toilet and sink with sufficient clearance. Usually, a space that’s three or four feet by six to eight feet is big enough for a half bath to be added.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.

Yes, $5,000 is a healthy budget for a DIY bathroom renovation. It can go a long way in making the space more accessible and stylishly spa-like. Providing you stick to modest materials and don’t make any major plumbing or structural changes, you can upgrade fixtures, retile, and add some stylish bathroom accessories and savvy storage solutions to maximize the space.

Professionals can enhance bathroom aesthetics by recommending and implementing design elements such as modern fixtures, high-quality tiles, and efficient layouts. They ensure cohesive style, compliment functionality, and an enhanced visual appeal in the space.
