Small jobs welcome

"Baci Painting is the absolute BEST! They transformed our home from dark walls to light and bright (including all trim). We had our entire home painted and if we had more walls to paint we would hire Baci Painting again. I would recommend Baci Painting to anyone looking for top quality, care and service for your home. Top notch!"

"I am very pleased we found Marioni painting. The price was competitive, they were very flexible with scheduling, and showed up on time. They painted a small bedroom, closet doors, trim and ceilings in ½ day. They had clean lines & were tidy workers not a single paint drip on my floors."

"Sunlight Contracting did a great job on our interior paint project! Very quick completion time and an amazing final result. We had a lower quality, chalky paint on the walls and were concerned about coverage and finish when painting over; however, Sunlight Contracting did a wonderful job working with what we had. We’re so happy with the finished product and will definitely contact Sunlight Contracting for future painting needs!"

"I must say, painting is all about the quality of the prep. My 1999 built house had tons of tape and nail pops. These guys removed the old tape, re taped and speckled and sanded and then painted. Sometimes it needed 3 coats. No extra charge was paid, and my house has never looked better than now! Highly recommend!"

"I was referred to R Jones Painting by a friend. Hugo was fantastic to work with. He and his team painted 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Some of the rooms required removal of wallpaper. Hugo was on-site working side by side with his crew. The crew was professional, on time, neat, and hard working. We were very happy with the quality of the work and the end result."

"From the initial contact for estimate until job completion, everything was outstanding. The rep from sales dept(Kip) was punctual for estimate, courteous and profressional....and price was very fair, thus I hired this company over 2 others in contention for the job. No regrets!! Joanne in the office was also available to finalize details and was very pleasant to work with. Finally, the day the job started, the crew arrived right on time as requested(it was a work day for me and I needed an on-time arrival). Site supervisor(Alex) was very kind and very thorough in discussing the details of the job. The job was performed better than could be imagined and after 2 days it was complete. Crew was gone when I arrived home from work after they completed job. House looked fantastic as if no one had been there. Super job in clean up. Highly recommend this company for interior painting."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Routine staining or sealing and periodic inspections to extend life.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

You can weather a new wood fence by applying vinegar with steel wool as a way to fade some of the coloring. You may also find it easier to stain your entire fence a new color instead of trying to get newer fence boards to match an older one.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

If you paint a vinyl fence, it will likely stick to it for only a brief amount of time. This is because vinyl is not a porous material, so it's not an ideal surface for holding paint. Initially, paint will stick to your fence, but it will eventually peel off. Applying primer before painting your vinyl fence will help paint last longer. Certain primers are well-suited to vinyl, which means you can paint vinyl siding with the proper preparation.
