"After 15 years, our water heater was slowly leaking--rust stains on the outside seams and a constantly damp floor underneath. Martin came to the house within hours after my call to him. He inspected carefully, and recommended replacing our heater and expansion tank with a similar model, in our case, a direct vent unit with 5-gallon expansion tank. He quoted a price that was very reasonable--and several hundred dollars less than a larger company in the area. We've been disappointed many times in the past with work done not by the person who bid the job, and not by employees, but by independent installation crews. So I asked Martin who would be doing the work. His quick response, "I will." Less than a week later, he arrived exactly at the agreed time. He removed the old heater and tank and took them away. He saved any usable parts for me, and installed a new heater and tank in about 4 hours. As we agreed, he replaced various fittings and connections that were corroded, worn, or simply misplaced in the piping system. Because I have mobility challenges, he also installed the expansion tank where I could reach it easily to monitor the pressure in the system. I appreciated this courtesy very much! Before leaving, he made sure the system was leak free and fully functioning. He set the system pressure, as well as the set point temp of the hot water--probably a little lower than most people might like, but still safe. And he left the place spotless! The bill was exactly as he estimated. I enjoyed meeting and talking with Martin--he has an easy way of explaining why he was recommending what he did. I was and am fully confident that he knew what needed doing. Nothing he recommended was unnecessary or 'padded.' Without hesitation, I will call on him again for any water heater or plumbing issues we have, whether for maintenance, repair, or new installation."
