"Lahcen is an excellent HVAC technician! He quickly diagnosed the issue with my AC unit and clearly explained what was causing an error in my AC unit and while he was diagnosing the main issue, he checked my filter he found out it was upside down. Professional, knowledgeable, and honest. I highly recommend him to anyone needing HVAC service."

"I was very impressed with the owners knowledge of the vacuum system we have and his plan to bring it up to a working order. Unfortunately due to the age of the system we were gonna have to replace the unit completely. We were not prepared to do that at this time. If in the market for a in house vacuum I would not hesitate to call them back."

"If there was a 10 STAR RATING, I would give Zulys Cleaning Service 20 STARS! I am extremely picky and have high expectations (admittedly), and when I say that every time Zulys comes to my home, I am more impressed than the last. Maria and her team are extremely trustworthy, detail-oriented and lovely human beings! I completely trust them with my entire home, my family, and everything I own. If you don't decide to hire them, you're making a big mistake! My family is a huge fan of Maria and her team, as they perform extremely quality work with extreme attention to detail. And, did I mention they're incredible people? I HIGHLY, highly recommend their services!!"

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

The disadvantages associated with central vacuums start with cost. They are expensive to install, especially in existing homes, as retrofitting requires opening walls. The system's bulky hoses can also be inconvenient to maneuver and store compared to portable vacuums. Additionally, repairs may need professional service, adding to maintenance costs. Lastly, while powerful, they may be overkill for smaller homes or apartments, making the investment less practical for some households.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.
