"Creech’s Plumbing, Inc. was quick to help us out when we needed them! We were able to schedule an appointment right away. The team is very professional, had great customer service and very knowledgeable about our situation. They explained things verbally to me and visually showed me the septic tank process. They understand the financial hardship of an emergency situation. The have several different packages to choose from when maintaining your septic tank. These options were really helpful to my husband and I. I would highly recommend this company! Thank you!"

"Very quick response to my request for service. Came on time and did the job in spite of the rain/snow. My septic tank access was almost 3 feet down, so I got them to install a collar to raise access to just below surface level for future cleanouts."

"Septic system was full and back flowing into the basement. These guys came out within a day, located the tanks within minutes, found the problem and came up with a solution! They came by a couple times afterwards just to check the area and make sure everything was still draining properly. Very prompt and professional! Great job guys!"

"I HIGHLY recommend Braxton Britt Plumbing. I called a few different places and Braxton Britt was the winner.. Great service from the office (shout out to Rebecca and Nicole) great girls fun and down to earth. The plumber they sent out Lance was professional and efficient. Great attitude and did exactly what he said he was going to do for the price I was quoted. I will definitely be calling Braxton Britt again for any plumbing work needed. A+++"

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

With regular servicing and general upkeep, both a well pump and pressure tank can last for years. The average lifespan of a well pump is around eight to 15 years. A well pressure tank can last from seven to 10 years. How long a well pump and pressure tank lasts also depends on a variety of factors such as type, size, material, and brand.

Recognizing signs of a failing septic system is crucial to prevent costly damage and health hazards. Foul odors in and around your home, slow drainage in sinks and toilets, or gurgling noises in plumbing fixtures can indicate problems with drainage. Lush, green patches of grass near the drain field or wastewater pooling on the ground are alarming signs that may indicate a leak in the system. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's vital to address them promptly to avoid more extensive and expensive issues.

How to size a well pressure tank is determined by three factors: flow rate, or how many gallons per minute your well pump produces; minimum runtime; and pressure switch setting. Most pressure tanks have a pressure switch operating at 20/40, 30/50, and 40/60—the first number is the pressure needed for the pump to turn on, and the second number is the pressure needed for the pump to switch off. Most homeowners relying on well water require a water pressure tank ranging from 20 to 80 gallons.

Septic tanks come in multiple shapes, sizes, and materials. However, they’re often round or rectangular in shape and made from concrete, fiberglass, or plastic. There’s a range of septic tank sizes, with the average model measuring 30 to 40 square feet and holding 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of waste.

Perc rates vary dramatically, and a good perc rate could be anything from 5 minutes per inch of drainage to 60 minutes per inch. The lower the number, the faster your system will drain and the more effective it will be. A 60-minute-per-inch drain rate is the highest number considered to be good, or even allowable, draining.
