Small jobs welcome

"Hands on Granite did an EXCEPTIONAL job repairing my kitchen granite countertop! Once Kevin completed the work, I was unable to spot where the damage had initially been! The results surpassed all my expectations! Kudos to the entire Hands on Granite team for their excellent workmanship!! Their promptness, politeness, knowledge, and professionalism are unparalleled! Special thanks to Nadia, and Kevin!! It was indeed a delightful experience doing business with you!! I am eagerly anticipating the next task of replacing some of my kitchen backsplash tiles. Judging by the quality of the granite work, I am convinced that you've earned a lifelong customer!!"

"We hired Alvin for a very complex project that was a lot of work. jThis is a historic home and we had a very wide blue slate porch and sidewalk that was 85 yrs old and all of the mortar and concrete bedding underneath was crumbling. We needed all the existing slate pulled up, relaid, and regrouted. New tile was also mixed in bc when you do a job like this, some of the old tile is destroyed with the removal. The job ended up taking longer than initially estimated and was much more expensive than the original quote. That is my only complaint. That said, Alvin and his crew worked tirelessly doing the job. They showed up every day, texted me if they weren't coming for some reason ( weather related usually) and they made sure we were satisfied with the work. The result has been a HUGE improvement both asthetically and safetywise. Practically all of this project was labor expense. And when it took so much longer to do the work, we were asked for $4000 above the original quote. We negotiated and came to an agreement about what we felt was fair for both sides. I got 3 quotes for this project and Alvin's was the most reasonable. The next nearest bid was $2000 above his for the exact same job. The bottom line is this is a good company that does good work. They are contentious and reliable. I would recommend. Just maybe ask first what happens if they underestimate on the labor of end of things so you are not surprised if they tell you the price needs to go up!"

"Alvin's work is impeccable. He's a true professional. Alvin was on time, gave an accurate price quote, worked fast and efficiently, cleaned everything, and he used top notch materials. The best part: I cannot say enough about how well he executed the installation. My master bath has never looked so good, and it's all because of Ashia tile's attention to detail."

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to complete stone restoration work will vary from home to home and project to project. Overall, a professional can complete a one-room project in one to two days. When vetting your local contractors, be sure to ask them how long they think the project will take to factor in any that could speed up or prolong the completion of the project.

Services typically take 2-4 hours, depending on the area size and floor material.

Yes, baking soda does shine marble. Sprinkle it directly on the marble and let it sit for about five minutes, then wipe it clean with a damp microfiber cloth. If you’d like to make a baking soda paste, then simply mix the baking soda with equal parts water and apply it. You can also add baking soda and dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water and mop a marble surface.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.
