    We cannot say enough good things about Blake and Mark (co-owners/partners at Asa Stanford) who we discovered on Angie's List. Blake came to our first meeting on time and prepared with print-outs (and his own notes) of the architectural design we had provided for a 400 sq ft den and office addition. It was clear he had put some thought into our project before he arrived. He spent about an hour reviewing the project with us, looking over our home, going into the attic, answering our questions, etc. He was able to provide an estimate for the project with our plans. Blake was very patient, detailed and thorough - and we knew before he left our driveway we wanted to hire him. Not only are Mark and Blake just really nice guys, they are really good at what they do. They worked seamlessly with our designer to review and finalize the building plans. Communication was excellent from beginning to end. Blake and Mark answered the phone almost every time we called (even if it was 4 PM on a Friday) and would answer texts and emails promptly. Blake constantly kept us informed of the schedule, which subs to expect, etc. Overall, we were happy with the work of the subs, and pleased with the oversight Mark and Blake had on their work. Mark himself is a very talented carpenter and nearly single handedly built the frame of the addition by himself - even our neighbors were pretty shocked watching him at work. (And for the record, as we learned from our conversations with Mark, he is equally as humble as he is skilled.) A few times, we asked about adding some things that weren't in our original contract, and Blake would give us his thoughts, research the cost and get back to us very quickly with an exact cost. There were some hiccups along the way (as there are with any project), but we never worried about them because we trusted Blake and Mark to take care of them, whatever they were. These guys really are the best. Overall, the project finished a few weeks early and came in right around the original cost estimation. We are so pleased with the finished result. It is even better than we anticipated, and we appreciate having full confidence in the materials and craftsmanship.     Excellent experience from selecting materials through entire installation process. -Very knowledgable, helped us understand comparisons of different materials. We ended up choosing engineered hardwood. Carlo was great. -Thomas and the demolition and installation crew were just excellent. Significant demo to remove old hardwoods and replace entire subfloor, they did a great job. Installation was great, down to cleaning the floor in great detail and very attentive placing of furniture after the job was complete. -Wallace and the stairway replacement/stain match were also great. Reviewed samples of different stain match options, and again the execution was excellent. The stairs look so good we are likely to not put in the runner we had planned. -They also did a great job working with our schedule as we were involved in other internal renovations. We had to make a shift in timing, they were able to accomodate this and fit in our schedule perfectly. I would recommend anyone considering a floor project to contact Carlo and his team.     I was told the kitchen would take 7-8 days; it took 10 weeks. After I had paid half of the quote up front and the project was well underway, I was told the materials cost more than they thought they would and that I owed an addition of more than $2000. After I said I would pay the quoted amount, they became hostile. There were constant delays. I was repeatedly told they were "sorry they took my job because I was pressuring them." Before the kitchen quartz was actually finished, I went ahead and paid the other half of that project trusting the problems would be corrected. Today when they came to collect the final half of the floor installation, they wanted to add $300 additional for a part of the kitchen quartz installation on which I had made the final payment on July 20. They once again told me they were sorry they had taken the job and never to call them again. I can assure I won't read less
