"Outstanding work, what ever you need done they were able to complete it at a timely manner. I needed a safe and affordable deck and they did just that. Plus Scott and his team went out of their way to over build to make sure we were safe but also make it aesthetically pleasing. Anything that came along they kept us informed and make sure we were educated to make the right decisions. Very pleased with their work and can’t wait to call them back to do more home Reno. You won’t be disappointed."

Customers say: True professional

"Without a significant hitch, and the minor ones that will ALWAYS crop up in a project this size were handled quickly, professionally, and to my satisfaction. Haines began fairly quickly after bid accepted, and worked tirelessly to arrange for demolition and major carpentry, building his own external stairs to window so as to avoid bringing construction material/debris through house. Timing of carpentry, roofing, hvac, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, cabinets/countertops choice and installation, and flooring was well-coordinated with no down-time. Very happy with finished project, and will be using Haines on smaller master bath remodel."

"There is precious little they cannot do. It is very comforting to find someone who takes pride in their work is honest and who can do most anything. Seth requires very little oversight. Tell him what you need and get out of his way"

"Gianfranco and his team did an excellent job rebuilding our front porch. They had the expertise and kept at the task. They put in new joists, new tongue-and-groove slats for the floor, and constructed four new railings and four new columns. They painted all of it. They also built us a fine new brick stairs. The work was done on time, too. Gianfranco was a pleasure to work with and explained everything so we could understand it. Jenny from the office was always on top of things with scheduling and billing. The price was very good and fair. I highly recommend Canelli for your next porch or deck project."

"Although we ultimately chose a more local contractor for our large renovation project, we were incredibly impressed with LEMIK. Working with Jerome through the process, he exhibited a great deal of expertise and experience in everything we needed. He was very observant in our walk-thru and transparent about the work, about challenges we might face and costs. Throughout the process, I always knew that I was being dealt with honestly and fairly. I will be keeping LEMIK in mind for future projects and would enthusiastically endorse them for anyone looking to build, renovate or add on to a home."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

Tiny houses, often called tiny homes, need between 100 to 400 square feet, with the most common size being between 200 and 300 square feet. Tiny houses more than 400 square feet venture into apartment-size dwellings and may be considered more of a traditional house than a tiny home. The number of occupants, desired lifestyle, and furniture will all be major factors that determine the desired tiny house size.

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.

Yes, barndominiums can be two stories. Blueprints for barndominiums can safely support multiple stories or vaulted ceiling heights of 14 feet or more. Barndominiums are prized for their ability to be modified and customized to suit the builder’s preferences, and many barndominium construction companies offer a variety of different floor plans to choose from.

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.

While building a treehouse isn’t necessarily a death sentence, damaging the trunk is one of the ways to kill a tree. If you’re concerned about the tree, opt for a treehouse support system rather than attaching it directly to the trunk. This may involve using bolts and brackets to affix the structure to the tree's branches or establishing a standalone support system that remains unattached to the tree.
