Long, 2-year, ~$90,000 story short (we used Walt for multiple projects over two-year period), all went well. Walt either on-site or easily reachable by phone. No noteworthy, unresolved problems; no complaints; Good work done by GC Haines and all subs.

This was the most painless and enjoyable renovation project. The kitchen footprint was changed, new cabinets, appliances, electrical, plumbing, wall removed to sunroom, hardwood floors installed, exterior door replaced, wet bar installed in pantry, new tile and shower in master. Walt is so organized and consistently offers suggestions for solutions when surprises arise. The quality of the work is outstanding and his subcontractors and suggestions for vendors make for a seamless process. I could not be happier with the results and will definitely be calling Walt again for other projects.

He's the best contractor I've ever worked with. He was on-time. He did everything he told me he did, he followed-up and everything went smoothly. He's wonderful to work with and everything he promised he delivered.

It went excellent. Highly professional. Super communicator. They told us everything in advance. They kept us informed all along the project. I am amazed. A wonderful experience. I was dreading this originally but after completion I found it to be a great experience.

At the end of the kitchen remodel Walt did to our complete satisfaction, Walt and the countertop guy worked to figure out if we could use the unused quartz for two new vanities. They worked it out and we are very happy with the results. Walt and his workers are very conscientious and extremely clean - almost no dust after all the demolition for both the bathroom and kitchen. Highly recommended!

Exceptional quality, they met their deadline. They are very conscientious and they are on the job every day. If posiible, I would like to give them an A+ for the price is very very fair.

Without a significant hitch, and the minor ones that will ALWAYS crop up in a project this size were handled quickly, professionally, and to my satisfaction. Haines began fairly quickly after bid accepted, and worked tirelessly to arrange for demolition and major carpentry, building his own external stairs to window so as to avoid bringing construction material/debris through house. Timing of carpentry, roofing, hvac, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, cabinets/countertops choice and installation, and flooring was well-coordinated with no down-time. Very happy with finished project, and will be using Haines on smaller master bath remodel.

There were snags as you might expect with a job this size, but none were as a result of Walt. He is great! We did have issues with one of his sub-contractors, but I don't think Walt will be using them again.

I was out of town during the Memorial Day weekend and returned on Monday May 30th to find my master bedroom closet flooded and the flooring in my hall 1/2 bath and where the bathtub is located swollen up so high the doors wouldn't close.  I called my plumber who came and disconnected the water heater, repaired a cracked pipe under the floor, then said code wouldn't allow them to reinstall a new one until the floor was repaired.  Result - no hot water.  A quick call to my homeowners insurance confirmed my worst fears that they wouldn't cover any of the damage.  Luckily I had one year left on my water heater warranty so I saved that $325.

By the time the water heater was delivered, I'd been without hot water for 3 days.  I jumped right on Angie's list to look for a local contractor and found Walt Haines was the closest to my home.  I called based on his good ratings, left a message on Friday and he called me right  to schedule a visit for assessment.  That same afternoon he came out and looked at the damage, gave me a verbal ballpark quote on the spot that I thought was very reasonable and I had it in writing in an email by that evening.  I called him back and he scheduled 2 members of his crew to come the following Monday for the repairs.  He even told me he had already scheduled these 2 guys to assist on a roofing job, but he realized I was in urgent need of hot water.  What a nice guy, huh?

They were on time and they had all their materials.  I had already moved everything out of the closet so they went right to work.  They brought drop cloths and put them down from my front door all the way down my hallway to the bedroom closet door.  They brought a shop vac with them and sucked up all the sawdust and waterlogged particle board as they went, replacing it with two thick layers of new plywood.  Walt said he estimated the work would take 3 to 4 hours and they were done in less than 3 hours including cleanup- well before noon.  That gave me time to schedule my plumber to come back and reinstall my new water heater that same afternoon and I had hot water before supper time.  Excellent!!

I still have the floor damage in my bathrooms to repair and I have been working with Walt to turn this repair into a small remodel that I've always wanted done to my bathrooms.  He's been very good so far about adjusting his estimates to meet my available funds.  So far he just couldn't have been nicer.

Kind and considerate - Reasonable quotes - I would recommend his business to anyone.

Work was done, quickly and efficiently in a week's time. Crews showed up at designated time and worked through the day, cleaning up at the end of each day. Flooring and toilets were all installed on the same day. Finished result is a considerable improvement on the original.

Walt was great to work with right from the start.  His quote was accurate and he or someone from his crew were at our home just about every day during the week.  He always kept us informed with what was going on and was always prompt with responding to our questions and concerns.  Walt takes pride in his work and it shows.  We would highly recommend Walt to anyone.

Walt met with me to discuss the project initially and provided me with a detailed proposal shortly after. Once I was ready to start the project, Walt and crew showed up and completed the work within the time proposed. Because of the proposal, we were on the same page throughout and there were no surprises. Walt is professional, follows through on his word, and very easy to work with. I am extremely satisfied with the finished product and would definitely hire him for other projects in my home.

It went great. Mr. Haines was prompt, he kept me informed every step of the way. He Texted me or called me to let me know what time they would be there, and you could count on him to do what he said. The project was well constructed. I am well pleased with the whole thing. Construction, materials, time, professionalism, promptness, crew and attention to detail. Walter and his team did a great job. I'm glad I went with a general contractor who was able to bring in pros for each phase. The guys were polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves. The project was pretty close to on-time. The quality of the workmanship is actually better than the builder who build my house. The hardware was of excellent quality. I highly recommend Walt Haines and hope to use him on future projects.

Walt and his crew were awesome. They were knowledgable and professional, and even when we ran into unexpected hiccups during the project they were quick to respond. Half of the time I forgot they were there because they were so quiet! Even the subcontractors that Walt used were great. Everyone was fast and efficient, and the quality of work was fantastic. We couldn't be happier. I would definitely use Walt again, and would recommend him to anyone.

He does a really good job.  He’s a bit expensive, but when his work is done, it’s done well.  The price was certainly worth it. We used him in the past, so we called him back for this job.

Several months ago we decided to add a bathroom to our downstairs room.  A neighbor suggested we find a contractor on Angie's List.  I joined Angie's List, checked with several  contractors, and hired Walt Haines for the job.    
The finished 6 x 8 bathroom is beautiful...we are very satisfied, and would highly recommend Walt to any of our friends. 

It was a pleasure having had Mr. Walter Haines as our contractor. He
built a new bathroom at home within the time he estimated. Responsible,
honest, respectful, knowledgeable and excellent quality work. I don't know many
other contractors but I would not hesitate to hire him again for any
improvement in our house. I highly recommend Walt for any job you might
have in your house. He is going to charge what it is and not a cent
more. Remember, you get what you pay for.
After a couple weeks after the job was done and Mr. Haines was paid, there was a slight issue,
nothing serious, but I e-mailed him on Sunday night and by Monday noon
he took care of the problem at no cost for us. I am sure not many people
act like that after is gone with their money on their pockets. 5 stars
for this contractor. Do not hesitate in calling him for an estimate. He
will be at your house 5 minutes earlier than arranged.
