He arrived earlier then the appt time and called me when he found out the location could actually provide the service to me for a cheaper rate.   He was really good and came out to fix the issue. He gave me suggestions on what other things I needed. He wasn't forceful about it or trying to sell me anything. He also went around and did extra service on top of it just to make sure all the locks were in working order. It was expensive but it was on target from what I understand.   Owner Jack Moore responded immediately, unlocked the storage closet and replaced the old lock in a matter of minutes. The price price was reasonable. We have other locks needing replacement and instead of drumming up new business, Jack suggested how we could do it ourselves, saving money. In a pinch, Jack came through.   I contacted AAA-K.W.D. Lock & Key on Monday because of the great reviews on Angie's List and I was not disappointed. I talked directly to Shawn & set up an appointment for Wednesday. He made a confirmation phone call on Tuesday & was at our home at the appointed time Wednesday morning, performed the work we needed.   I have used Richard Smith on 2 prior occasions before the date listed in this review and each time he was completely professional, friendly, and able to solve my lock problems thoroughly and completely. I rejoined Angie's List just so that I could post this review after watching ABC's The Lookout last Wednesday night, 6/5/2012! The majority of the show was about how unsuspecting folks are scammed by calling a locksmith out of the phone book in an emergency situation and getting connected to a complete shakedown artist and then be scammed! Great show and it was a huge eyeopener as well. So I decided I would give my good neighbors in the Triad Area the option of a very honest local locksmith that is registered with NC License #0171 and he is also Bonded. The show stated NOT to wait to find a Locksmith until you are in a panic situation and needing one. The show also stated that you did not want to be blind sighted by a scam artist listed in the phone book that would also over charge you from the prior agreed to service call charge quoted over the phone. I made the mistake of giving my house key to someone I thought was trustworthy who turned out not to be! Therefore I had to change all my locks last August. Period. I called my regular locksmith who was ok, but he was recovering from surgery and he referred me to RNS Lock and Key Service. I called and Richard answered and we set up a time. He arrived on time and proceeded to fix all my locks. As I said he is thorough, reliable, honest and you definitely need honest if someone is dealing with your keys to anything you own, friendly, personable, and kind. Richard N. Smith is a man of his word and his word is his bond. You don't get any better than that in dealing with another person. Richard's Products and Services include: Auto Home Lockout Service, Deadbolts, Keys by Code, Keys Made, Locks, Locks Changed, Locks Repaired, and REKEYING.Richard's Hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 5 pm.
