Over 20 years experience in fence installation. Type of installations includes; commercial & residential; wood, chain link, vinyl, and aluminum fence installations. Typically winning business over competition with best pricing up front. FREE estimates in the tri-county areas.

"I am very highly disappointed with this company. I had high hopes and was really looking forward to the project on my new home, only to be let down and feel so discouraged by the amount of money and lack of quality i received. I met the owner at my property to measure and to discuss what I wanted where he gave me verbal and visual confirmation as to where my fence would be, that I clarified at least 2x verbally. He did not write it down until after the appointment, which was my fault, because I trusted his word. The day of installation, the fence was 3 feet shorter into my yard than it is supposed to be and does not even go to the edge of my lot. I have now lost 1/2 of my yard and I am just absolutely beyond disgusted and p***** off. I had a wonderful other company that came out and gave me a quote that I wish I would have gone with instead but I stupidly used T&T because I’m in a new subdivision and was recommended by the sales office…HUGE MISTAKE!! Now I am stuck with 1/2 my yard wasted!!!!"

To all, Sawmill Fencing Employs only five members or six to include myself. The due amount is to be payable upon the completed work and a walk around with all homeowners. The walk around would be conducted with either myself or a foreman that is on Site. Every fence install has at least one foreman on site. I want nothing up front as that is fraudulent in my book! I want all to be happy before I accept a penny from anybody.

"I walked with Mike and showed him where I wanted my fence to be and, for whatever reason, he did not quote me to where I wanted it to be. When his "crew" showed up I noticed they weren't putting the fence where I wanted and so I spoke to them and called Mike. He proceeded to tell me he was going to have to charge me $400 MORE than the quote because of materials etc (no additional materials were ever delivered). The first day 4 workers showed up, next day 3, then 2 for a couple of days and, even though my fence wasn't even half finished, one guy came out for the last couple of days. Most of the time his crew sat on the materials on their phones while 1 or 2 of the guys actually worked (when there was actually more than 1 person here). Both my gates sag, one part of my fence had a 12 foot section with no 2x4 to hold it up, one section leans outward, not all the boards are attached properly. I alerted Mike right away and sent pictures regarding all the issues and Mike said he was going to have to charge me additional to come out and fix it!!!! WHAT?! I explained who I was and the issues I had during installation and he said oh I'll come and fix it when I can. It's been excuse after excuse of why he is unable to fix INCLUDING that he is busy with paying jobs (so my $4,700 doesn't count as paying?), I'm borrowing a truck for work because mine was totaled and I can't drive it everywhere. It's a business.... you borrowed said truck FOR your business. It has been 2.5 years and he has yet to fix my issues (so much for a life time warranty right?). I paid someone else quite a bit of money to come out and fix what Mike's company did wrong. He sweet talks you with fairy tales of quality materials and workmanship with lifetime warranties. He talks about how he donates to this and that and all he is is a scam artist. DO NOT USE SAWMILL FENCING!"

"Rue Construction exceeded my expectations! I was extremely pleased with their work. They were very professional, worked with us to prioritize our needs and worked within our budget. They came when scheduled, work was completed as promised and they even helped with a small job that we didn't expect without hesitation. Construction on historic homes is delicate and takes knowledgeable experts and it is difficult to find people willing to do the job well and are trustworthy... these guys were a Godsend."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.

While wood fencing is versatile and durable, there are other fence material options to consider. Check out our comprehensive list of the Best Types of Fences for Your Home to browse through some other fencing materials. Popular types include metal fencing, such as aluminum and chain link, and wood alternatives, such as vinyl or composite fencing.

When deciding to replace or repair your existing fence, consider the 20% rule that fence builders reference. This rule states that if more than 20% of your fence needs repair, you should skip the repair and replace it. Additionally, if your fence is nearing the end of its life, it's often best to replace it.

Repairing the fence is a good option when you have minimal damage or damage from a specific event versus wear and tear. Your fence repair professional can assess the damage and compare the repair price with the cost of a new fence.

Most homeowners who install a wrought iron fence do so because it provides security. The material is sturdy and deters intruders from entering your property. They're also built to last and won't rust if you purchase a galvanized iron fence. So, you don't have to worry about replacing fencing every few years like you might with wood or other less expensive materials. Most homeowners also adore the look of wrought iron fencing, which adds a timeless look to just about any style home.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.
