I am very highly disappointed with this company. I had high hopes and was really looking forward to the project on my new home, only to be let down and feel so discouraged by the amount of money and lack of quality i received. I met the owner at my property to measure and to discuss what I wanted where he gave me verbal and visual confirmation as to where my fence would be, that I clarified at least 2x verbally. He did not write it down until after the appointment, which was my fault, because I trusted his word. The day of installation, the fence was 3 feet shorter into my yard than it is supposed to be and does not even go to the edge of my lot. I have now lost 1/2 of my yard and I am just absolutely beyond disgusted and p***** off. I had a wonderful other company that came out and gave me a quote that I wish I would have gone with instead but I stupidly used T&T because I’m in a new subdivision and was recommended by the sales office…HUGE MISTAKE!! Now I am stuck with 1/2 my yard wasted!!!!

This company is top notch!!! Our entire backyard fence (360 feet of fence) was destroyed in the hurricane. They were amazing to deal with from the very first phone call. Very responsive in providing their estimate and the wait to have installation performed was not long considering all the work backed up from storm damage. The work crew was very polite and hard working and the quality of the installed fence was excellent. Price was also better than other quotes.

"I went out of my way to leave from Wilmington and meet with Ms. [Member Name Removed] at her property in Hubert on 10/16/18. I don't understand why she would say I didn't meet with her, as I talked with her extensively on site about her estimate and sketched her plot plan. It wasn't until after I returned to Wilmington that I found out she reviewed our company and gave us an "F" rating. When I called her to ask her why we received an "F" for not showing up for her appointment, she responded that she didn't own a computer and never sent the review. She further explained that her daughter was the one that set up the appointment for her and it was her daughter who must have given us the "F" (her daughter was not on site when I met with Ms. [Member Name Removed]). I've contacted Angie's List to dispute our review and I guess they never were able to resolve this with Ms. [Member Name Removed]. It is very concerning how some folks do not understand how something as simple as (1) bad rating can impact businesses, especially small business like ours!!!"

It went very well. Tim is easy to deal with and very fair. Tim has the resources and access to resources to accomplish most anything having to do with fencing. Much of my back yard had to be cleared as it was overgrown. (house was built in 1948) I only had to have two very large trees removed, which were also near power lines... everything else Tim's folks took care of. Tim knows his fences. Due to the fence being 8 feet high, Tim used 6 by 6 posts instead the 4 by 4 posts used on my neighbor's 8 foot fence. The board on board insures privacy, where I can look through my neighbor's fence between the pickets. Where we were tight on space, Tim had the ties moved to the back of the post to allow for more room in those areas. I would recommend T & D Custom Fences for all of your fencing needs

Superior work at an excellent price. We had priced out other vendors and being from Northern Virginia were everyone had a rear yard deck we were familiar with having a deck built. This deck is the most beautiful we've seen. Mr. Wells was very intuitive when helping us plan our deck. He offered several custom suggestions that were not expensive but added a custom look. The gentlemen doing the install were indeed craftsmen, from the quality of the lumber used, the underneath framing, to the benches that seem to float on the deck, the flower boxes, the stairs and the exact degree of tilt to the bench backs. They took our plans and turned them into something remarkable. I was wrong in thinking that the construction had broken my sprinkler line (turned out to be just poor drainage in a part of the yard), but when I called to express that concern Mr.. Wells dispatched a gentleman in the sprinkler repair business who patiently researched my sprinkler line, dug in a few spots to be sure and assured me that the line was intact. Come time to stain the deck Mr. Wells has a gentleman available who can do that. All in all a very satisfying experience. My every question was answered promptly and with courtesy. T&D followed up after construction to ensure that I was satisfied. Truly a full-service, customer oriented organization. I recommend them most highly for quality and value.

He came out (he was late) told me he'd send me an estimate Friday or Monday at the latest. It's been a week and a half. I haven't heard from him.

"Hi Ms. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your feedback. If it wasn't feedback such as this, we certainly would not be able to fine tune our scheduling and performance level. It is not common practice for Tim (the Owner) to be late for his estimate appointments; however, from time to time he does run behind due to another estimate taking longer than usual or issues on other job projects. We do apologize that he was running late on this particular day; however, he was coming from New Hanover County and his previous estimate was taking longer than expected. One of the things that sets T&D apart from other fence companies is the fact the Owner (Tim) completes all estimates, not to mention he doesn't rush a customer, only to try and get to another appointment. T&D Fences and Decks does pride themselves on being punctual and if Tim knows he'll be late to an appointment, he or the office will call the customer to make them aware and make sure it's not an inconvenience that he is running behind schedule. Again, our apologizes that Tim was tardy for the appointment. In reference to your estimate turnaround time; you requested 4 different project quotes (including wood fence and aluminum). Tim does try his best to get the estimate to you within 24 - 48hrs; however, he wasn't aware his aluminum Vendor was not available for a few days, creating a delay in the estimate being sent over to you, as well as our computer system was down on Wednesday. Your estimate was emailed to you on 9/21/17 at 2:04pm. You may want to check your "junk" or "spam" folder. If you still can't find it, we'd be more than happy to re-send it to show proof the estimate was sent. We apologize for the tardiness of your estimate; however, when we depend or our Vendors to reach back out to us with their pricing, we have no control when they are out of pocket and not reachable. The feedback you provided has been well received and we will certainly make a conscience effort to be more responsive and communicative in the future and we hate that this was at the expense of jeopardizing our rating on Angie's List. Again, my apologies and we hope to redeem ourselves in the future."

The estimator came out when I called them. I had done some research on ratings and they had one of the best ratings. I called them and they had an estimator come out a few days later. I had told them that I was not looking for the standard 5 or 6-foot wood board here. It was going to be at the front of my home, across the front patio, and down the side of my home. The purpose of it was, I needed a second place for my dogs to live because I have a dog run. The dog run is covered, where I can usually park fosters when I need too, but I don’t want to park fosters with my clan because sometimes the fosters arrive without any bedding and I have to get them into a vet and I’m not going to comingle a disease or dogs been a stray with my pack. Then there’s flees in my bed. So, I wanted to add a fence. So, they came out and had a brochure on aluminum powder coated fencing and we settled on a 5-foot-high fence that has an aluminum spar every four inches, and the bottom 18 inches has double number of spars every couple inches so a small dog can’t get out through the openings. They ran 150 feet of that, about 50 feet across the front of my home, about 80 feet down the side of the home and then another 40 feet from the back corner to the back corner of my home. I had to order the fencing. They don’t build it, they buy it. So, they ordered the fencing. I called them 2 weeks later to check where we were on my fencing. He says I was on his list to call today and they’ll be there tomorrow. Three-man crew shows up about 8 o’clock in the morning with all the materials. They dig all the holes, put in all the posts, install the fence. They cleaned up meticulously. They were out of here by 4 o’clock in the morning. Did a great job. I wouldn’t give the price an A, it’s for about 150 feet of fence it’s a lot, but it’s a gorgeous fence. It wasn’t cheap. Side bar on the professionalism, the foreman sees my granddaughter and asks her to come over and asks her how high she can reach. And he mounts the front gate latch where she can reach it. Now that’s service for you!

Carmen and their staff were quick, timely, honest and always wanting to make us happy! It would be great if more contractors followed this model. We would recommend them to anyone. They are a great fencing contractor and they guarentee the work for a year!

Very well. We used this company before, and were happy to call Tim again when we installed an in-ground swimming pool and needed to upgrade our fence to meet code. We also replaced the old privacy fence panels that had been here since the house was built in 2004. As before, T&D built the fence on site. No ready made panels. The result is worthwhile. Our inspector was a stickler and measured each and every space between pickets on a more open section. Only one of the newly-installed pickets was a tad more than 1 3/4 inch apart, so that one had to be redone. The rest of our new fencing was what Tim calls "the good neighbor fence" since it's attractive on both sides. We are very pleased with the look.

The owner was very quick to get to an estimate to him. Once John agreed to the price, the owner gave him an estimated date to erect the fence. It turned out, the company was able to move his job up, so John was thrilled to have it weeks before expected. The two workers were very polite, mannerly, hard working, neat, professional, thorough, and did a great job. It only took two days. One for the posts and the second day to cut and install the wood planks. They cleaned up each day and made sure everything was in order. The neighbor could not be happier, and we are as happy that he was treated well and the fence makes John happy.
