I believe they likely called everyone in the neighborhood. We were looking for someone to have a few odd jobs done, so asked for an estimate. The proposed work included repairing rotten wood on the mailbox post, repainting the mailbox, installing a shelf, repairing a bathroom cabinet and repairing a kitchen cabinet.
Daryl Marsh came to our home to provide the estimate, which we accepted, and that is about where the professional service ended. It took multiple phone calls to schedule the work and each time, Daryl did not show up and did not call. When we finally did speak with him there was always an excuse such as "I was out of town" or "my kids have been sick".
After approximately 4-6 weeks, he did come out and repaired the mailbox wood. The new boards were cut crooked but that is the least of the problems. He painted the mailbox in a color that is not even remotely close to the one requested (and the only color allowed in our neighborhood) and did not paint the newly replaced wood. He said he realized the color was wrong and would come back the next day to finish the work. He left a saw here accidently so I thought he would at least come back for that. Now, that was approximately 8 weeks ago and we have had no luck in getting him to finish the job.
We have made repeated additional phone calls and only managed to speak to him once. At that point I asked for my money back....yes, we had already paid him. He said he would come by the next day with a check and to pick up his circular saw.
Surprise, surprise, no phone call and no Daryl. Yes, we still have his saw.
We have already had the work completed by another company and it seems we are unlikely to get our money back from Daryl. It has been 4 months since we hired Daryl Marsh to complete this job and he clearly has no intention of doing so and no intention of refunding our money.
If you ever come across Daryl Marsh/Marsh Painting my advice would be to stay far away!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nc/wilmington/marsh-painting-reviews-6437653.htm"},"position":10}]}

Unfortunately, they were a no-show for my estimate. I called 20 minutes after the scheduled arrival time (9a), first with no answer/the phone kept ringing, then I got "mailbox full. When I did reach their admin, I was told I would get a call back soon. After 40 minutes I finally reached the...

Waited 10 days for them to come for a washer repair, only they never showed up. Then when I called they said they would call me back and never did. When I tried to call again it repeatedly would go to voicemail. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

Called this am, they came four hours later, made repair and explained all. They only do repairs, not home installations which I liked.

"HORRIBLE CONTRACTORS!!! I have had contractors before and experienced some issues but this Anthony guy is very unprofessional and he is an absolutely nightmare! Not a single item was completed from the contract he and I agreed on and he took 60% of the contract amount and he stopped working the property. I had a property with some cosmetic work stuff and repairs which shouldn’t be that complicated. After he toured the property and gave me estimated time frame for 2 weeks. I know normally how it is not done with contractors so I asked him a few more times and confirmed if he could really finish it in two weeks. He was confident and said two weeks for no problem. After it has been almost 4 weeks, not even a quarter of work has been done and I noticed he didn’t even show up. He has so many excuses and complaints every single time when I contacted him. It felt like he was working for free which was not true. We agreed on 3 installment payments, 1st installment, before the job start about 30% of the total price, and 2nd one, 1/3 of the total price, and the last one at the completion of the job. After 2 weeks of work and not much of work has been done, he already requested for the 2nd installment. I asked him, the work has not been done 2/3 of the job, more over not even half way done. Anyway, he got upset and he wouldn’t continue the job if I didn’t pay. So I paid and then BOOM! He didn’t show up at work and when I asked him, his answer was it is too cold to work at the property. He made excuses and excuses and he said he will only come back if the heater is fixed. I did and texted him and called him. NO RESPONSE. Besides, his quality of work is horrible. He and his crew painted all over, light fixtures, light bulbs, floors, even bathtub. What kind of painter paint over the tub?! They simply didn’t even covered the parts not supposed to paint but they were so lazy and sloppy worker. They installed the brand new room doors, two out of three, didn’t even close properly and didn’t even use the shim. Installing the door is one of the basic carpentry job and he can’t even do that! I asked for the breakdown of the work and cost and no answer. When I confronted him for a few stuff, he just blah blah blah and repeating himself by making endless nonsense and not doing the job at all. Even if he does a job, not a good quality one."

FAQs for mailbox repair projects in Fair Bluff, NC
Brick mailbox repairs cost about $625 on average, ranging from about $500 to $750, depending on the extent of damage, type of brick and mortar, time of year, location, and experience level of the mason doing repairs. Hire a masonry contractor to inspect the brick mailbox’s damage and recommend a repair plan. They can also provide a price estimate that’s specific to your type and size of mailbox.
Yes, it’s usually possible to repair damaged brick mailboxes. If the masonry is damaged, the brick can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. However, the new mortar will likely be different in color from the original mortar joints. In most cases, if the mailbox itself is damaged, it’s possible to cut it out and replace it. Consult a masonry contractor to determine whether it’s worth repairing your brick mailbox based on its value and amount of damage.
Typically, a brick mason will repair a brick mailbox. They can provide an estimate for repairs, which may include sourcing replacement brick, mortar, and other materials. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office to confirm that a brick mailbox is allowed in your location as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes because of the potential hazard for drivers who may hit them.
Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their own mailboxes. Otherwise, a property manager is responsible for repairs and maintenance if the Post Office does not maintain it. If you own your home, you are responsible for maintaining the mailbox at the specified height, distance from the road, and functionality.
Mailbox repair can cost anywhere from $100 to $300, depending on the type of mailbox, materials involved, and labor cost. The estimated cost of repairs also depends on whether you need to replace the mailbox post, the post’s construction, and type of mailbox. If you have multiple mailboxes, the cost will increase compared to a single mailbox.
