"So happy I went with USA Insulation. After learning about foam insulation, I knew it was the right option for my house. They insulated my walls and attic in a day and a half, and I could feel the difference right away."

"Everything went according to plan. Crawlspace insulation was replaced and closed space was sealed up. A air inducer was also installed. The environment is totally different down there now and is much closer to the temperature of the house. I kept my vapor barrier the same."

"Ed came when he said he would and had a proposal to me the next day.  This company is busy and I see why.  Each crew that showed up was professional and hard working.  We had a little communication glitch, but it was not a big deal and they went above and beyond.  I'm happy with the work and the price and I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

"They acted as a very professional company. I called to schedule an estimate, the gentleman showed up the next day. He explained in detail what they would do and was willing to negotiate the cost. The day before work their scheduler called the confirm I'd be available. They showed up on time, worked diligently, and cleaned up before they left."

"Wayne and his crew did a spectacular job, at a very fair price. What began as a simple dryer vent job, became a critically important HVAC-related repair, after his willingness to check on our mold and odor issue from our primary air conditioning unit. Net/net: He discovered our problem was with mold and retained water in flex duct work that had not been properly checked and cleaned. He provided us with a comprehensive quote, and quickly got us on his schedule, even though it meant they had to work on a Saturday. He and his crew arrived on time (in fact, 15 minutes before promised) and in one day changed out all duct work. He also returned to our home the next week, to verify everything was properly installed and working, and "tweaked" a few ducts that needed adjustments. Wayne knows his "stuff" and advised on cost-effective solutions (at far fewer dollars) to save on addressing one remaining issue. Lastly, when we had concerns with a faint odor (not caused by their work) he immediately returned the next morning, to ensure everything was working properly. We highly recommend Lindsay's Air Care -- excellent and prompt, expert service. Very fair price, knowledgeable and friendly, willing to explain all work, quick to follow up to ensure we were completely satisfied and that the work was done correctly in all respects."

"Great. I was told by a plumber who went under the house that I had a lot of mildew. When Andrew came, he inspected it and he told me it was not that bad, where as he could have taken advantage of me and charge me more (for example is the issue was on the insulation). I went into the crawlspace with him and verified. He educated me one how they would remove it. I took "before" pictures. He also explained the liner, which will prevent future issues and bring it up to current "specs". So, I paid for that. After: The crawl space joists were perfectly clean! The liner was perfectly laid. l took "after" pictures. It literally smelled cleaned too. He met me on time and finished on time. Definitely a great job."

"they did an excellent job they replaced my heating and air unit in one day. They had to get a crane since i live in a condo and part of my unit is on the roof of my condo 4 stories in the air.  Since it was already winter I was concerned that we may have to spend a night without any heat but they were done by the afternoon.  The unit works great they called the next day to see how everything was going I was very pleased with the service and the product that they installed.  I would highly recommend them if you you need service or a new unit.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Traditional clapboard siding, particularly with panels made from wood, is not a significant insulator on its own. However, you can keep your home cooler in summer and warmer with "insulated clapboard siding," which is a type of vinyl clapboard siding with a built-in foam insulation. Consult a local siding contractor to determine whether insulated siding is right for your home.

One of the disadvantages of soffit vents is they can bleed warm air from the attic during winter, resulting in slightly higher energy bills and a colder house. There are ways to mitigate this effect—mostly just closing the vent in the fall. What’s most important is your attic is ventilated to some degree in the winter.

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first

The R-value is a rating that measures an insulation's thermal resistance—in other words, how well it insulates. A higher R-value provides more protection for your pipes, and all pipe insulation materials should have an R-value listed on the product description or label. Each insulation type has its own R-value, which typically falls between one and five for most pipe insulation. When making a selection, Energy.gov recommends choosing a pipe wrap that is at least one inch thick, and the International Code Council (ICC) suggests choosing a material with an R-value of at least 3.

Spray foam insulation doesn’t do well around heat sources. Therefore, You can use spray foam insulation to seal around HVAC boots that penetrate through the drywalls or around where wrapped ducts connect to the boots, but we don’t recommend using spray foam insulation to encapsulate your air ducts. Spray foam insulation on air ducts is also less effective compared to duct wraps.
