Customers say: Quick response

"Darren completed three big projects for us in 2019, including a laundry room build, and remodel of the original laundry, and a deck. He also located local professionals to assist with other issues in the home, and took on smaller projects as well. Darrenâ s crew, mostly Ryan, completed quality work, and they were able to make adjustments and problem-solve along the way as unforeseen issues arose (as is common with larger projects). We appreciate the quality of the end results!"

"Carlos is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He did a drywall project for us and it turned out great. He priced the project for the job unlike paying people hundreds of dollars to be there. Thank you Carlos! God bless!"

"Jabel and the team at Pinnacle have drawn multiple structures for me. All experiences have been great. A 12,000 sqFT commercial building, a residential cabin, and my current residence. I think you get what you pay for with drafting and these guys will stick with project until it is done."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

Building permits serve a few purposes, the most important of which is to keep you and the people around you safe by ensuring your contractor does work safely and to code. Permits also help your municipality tax your property appropriately, as taxes are based on land improvements and the upgrades you make to your home. Finally, permits ensure your project won’t have a negative impact on the environment or your neighbors.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.
