Customers say: Quick response

"They rebuilt my deck, stained and sealed it, and improved the structure and water drainage underneath. They also rebuilt my wooden double gate and single gate, 12 ft section. They akso installed a lot of fence posts where needed to strengthen the fence. They were fast and did a very good job for a reasonable price. I would use them again."

Calvin responded immediately to my request for a quote, was professional and kind in person, and offered a quote shortly after surveying my damage. He and his team worked within the designated time frame (for drywall repair and painting) and made sure that I was 100% satisfied with the final product. Great work!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an excellent experience with our HVAC installation. Omar, the owner, was professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with from start to finish. He took the time to explain our options, answered all our questions, and made sure everything was done right. The installation was completed on time, the work area was left clean, and the system is running perfectly. It’s clear Omar takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. I highly recommend Omar and his company to anyone needing HVAC services."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

One of the most common house framing basics for decades has been using wood for the framing work. However, some framing contractors now suggest using steel frames. Steel is lightweight, resistant to fire, and resistant to moisture, all of which are areas where wood framing could cause problems. However, steel framing is more expensive than wood and limits your ability to insulate the home.

The cost to convert a carport into a garage averages about $22,000, ranging from about $15,000 and $55,000. Additional cost factors to consider include size, time of year, and how much of the carport you can reuse. Other cost factors include the kinds and amounts of materials used, such as:

  • Add insulation: $1 per square foot

  • Add drywall: $1–$3 per square foot

  • Add window: $450–$2,000 per window

  • Add outlets: $75–$500

  • Add garage door: $250–$11,200

  • Enclose framing: $5–$13 per square foot

  • Replace roofing: $1,000–$2,000

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.
