Alex is very nice and communicates well, but unfortunately, his crew has very poor attention to detail. We had popcorn ceilings removed and finished in 3 rooms and the walls and trim painted as well. We moved almost all furniture out of the rooms, covered the rest well in plastic, removed all outlet and switch faceplates, dropped fan collars, patched and sanded most nicks in the walls, and also tore up all flooring, as we planned to replace that ourselves. We purchased the paint prior to the job starting and ended up having to buy more halfway through. Alex was by far the cheapest quote we got, and scheduling with him was easy. The job took about a week, which was reasonable given the size of the rooms and two of them having high vaulted ceilings (~11 ft). During the job, we pointed out several wall joints that appeared rough or unfinished. Though these were touched up, the mudding, retaping for certain spots, and caulking are all very rough/sloppy. Some drywall screw spots are still visible. Other areas just were not sanded well after popcorn removal and prior to priming, so they are visibly rough. They did very little sanding of the walls, so errant popcorn particles remain near the ceiling. Paint coverage on the walls is very spotty, with some areas clearly not getting a 2nd coat. Dust was painted into the trim and walls frequently. There are some nicks in the wall that were not present when they began. Drywall mud was splattered and dropped on the floor frequently. They did not clean it up, and it took us hours to scrape it all up before we can put floors in. Primer is on much of the door hardware, as they only covered them after spraying primer. Our brick fireplace has a significant amount of primer/dust in it that I am unsure we will be able to get out. The drywall joints between the ceiling and walls are requiring significant additional work to get even moderately clean lines. The sides of the door trim were forgotten in several cases. We are repainting several walls and sections of trim ourselves. We have refinished the ceilings and painted several rooms ourselves. While they are not perfect, I can confidently say they are significantly better than the work done by professionals. I wanted to avoid dealing with the vaulted ceilings myself, but I wish I had, as we are going to be spending the next weekend or two redoing large portions of them anyway. Regardless, if you need a large area painted cheaply and do not particularly care about the details, Alex may be a good choice for you. If you want a truly professional finish, you would be better served looking elsewhere for your interior painting needs.
