"I cannot say enough good things about this company! They were everything an outstanding company should be - great communication, prompt, friendly, did an excellent job trimming our huge silver maple, and above-and-beyond on clean-up afterwards. Jose and his crew trimmed our silver maple which grows very near our house and next to our privacy fence. They cut off two large branches (2.5 ft in diameter), both which went over our rooftop. They did an exemplary job and without any damage to our roof, house, fence, and patio. If you are looking for tree service, I am confident you will not find a better company! We will definitely use 5hem again!"

"The Alpha Services team did a fantastic job trimming our trees. Recently purchased house with two large oak trees and a tree with a awkward lean over a pool. Alpha Services cleaned them all up very nicely, and were extra careful bringing the limbs down near the pool. Hardly any debris ended up in the pool and nothing was dropped on the pool deck. Clean up was also great, and the team even cut up some of the wood for us to use as firewood. Highly recommend!"

"Kc Tree service is a great company for all of your tree needs. Alex worked with me. I had a certain time to get it done and Kc tree Service came through when I needed them to. I highly recommend KC Tree Service. I give them a 20 Star Rating! Thanks again to Alex and the crew that came out on a Sunday to help me. And they also cleaned up my yard after the work was done. Customers say: Super punctual

"Christian and Lupe have a great family business. They did everything on time and exactly what they said they would do and we are very pleased with the job they completed for us. We had a difficult area to take out a couple of trees where they could not use all of their equipment but they did exactly what we wanted and cleaned up very thoroughly. We definitely recommend Martinez Tree and Lawn Service for tree work."

They have all the proper quipment along with the skill to use it correctly. Noel and his crew are very personable and cordial. "From initial request for quotation to job completion, this company has been knowledgeable, responsive and professional. A full-day job in sweltering heat was completed thoroughly by a hard-working crew with great attention to detail, including complete clean-up. The owner is great to work with - friendly, good knowledge and referrals for items he doesnâ t specialize in (pests in large ash tree), and positive attitude. Highest recommendation."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

Professionals use assessments, strategic cuts, specialized equipment, and safety measures to ensure healthy growth or the safe removal of trees or shrubs.

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

If tree branches cross well into your property line, in many cases, these branches become part of your property, and you can trim them up until your neighbor’s property line. However, this issue will vary based on local ordinances, so you should do your research before making any decisions. Better yet, speak with your neighbor about how to handle any tree issues.

If you don’t mind the branches, you can leave them be, but if they’re becoming a hazard, it’s definitely worth having a conversation.
