Customers say: Quick response

"The staff at the St.Maryâ s location were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, beginning with the receptionist. Karen, my sales lady, was very patient as I had a difficult time deciding which countertop I wanted. She took me outside to look at their very large selection of granite, quarts, slate and other materials in huge sheets outside in their viewing area. After much deliberation, I picked one, and within two weeks my new countertops were in place. The men who delivered and set up the countertops were very polite and knew exactly what they were doing. I would highly recommend Sarto in St.Marys, KS."

"Our salesman, Nathan was very informative and helpful through our whole project. Erica kept us informed about installing schedule. Even with delays, Erica made sure I had the latest information and never hesitate to call. Our installer for the shower was very polite and made sure he had all supplies. He installed the shower in one day. The counter top was installed three days later. The installer was polite and even came up with solutions when the installed plumbing needed adjustments."

Hello, my name is Devin. I work as a lead project manager for a contract company that mainly deals with roofing and exterior. Looking for extra work on the afternoons and weekends. Before this, I had a gutter company. After high school before the gutter company I worked as a freelance handyman. Thank you very much. I appreciate any business.

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting.

The average cost to install or replace countertops is $3,105, with most projects falling between $1,858 and $4,177. However, the total price can range from $400 to $8,500 depending on several key factors. The most influential cost factors include the countertop material, the size in square feet, the quality of the new countertops, and the complexity of the job, such as the number of sink cutouts, corners, and special edging. Other considerations are the accessibility of the installation area and whether the project includes the removal and disposal of your old countertops. You have a wide array of material options to choose from. Laminate is generally the most budget-friendly, costing between $8 and $27 per square foot. On the higher end, slate countertops range from $30 to $90 per square foot. Other popular materials with varying price points include butcher block, quartz, granite, stainless steel, Corian, and wood.

Common hardscaping materials include coated steel or iron, asphalt, stone, concrete, and brick. Coated steel or iron provide durability and style for fences and gates while asphalt is a wallet-friendly option for driveways. Stone brings timeless beauty to steps, patios, and walkways. Concrete pavers and slabs are cost-effective, though they require more upkeep than stone alternatives. For a classic, upscale look, brick works beautifully in walls, walkways, and patios. Each material brings its own charm, so pick what fits your budget, style, and functional needs.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface materials can be cut with standard woodworking tools, such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. However, it is crucial to use the correct type of blade to avoid damaging the material.

For a circular saw, a tungsten carbide-tipped blade is required; a triple chip grind blade is highly recommended. For a jigsaw, you should use a fine-tooth down-cutting blade. Do not use blades designed for cutting wood, as they can cause microfractures that weaken the edges of the countertop. A diamond blade is also unnecessary, as those are designed for harder materials like natural stone, which Corian is not.

After cutting, the edge will be rough. It is essential to sand and smooth the cut edge to prevent microfractures, which can eventually compromise the integrity of the countertop.

Cultured stone is typically easier to cut compared to natural stone. Because it’s lightweight and porous, cutting cultured stone doesn't take as much effort. The process of cutting cultured and natural stone is the same; however, you may spend more time cutting through natural stone.
