"I was shopping for a new convertible top to be installed on my car and went into Express Upholstery in St. Peters to get pricing. They wrote up a quote for me, I liked the price, we scheduled a date for the installation, and they said I needed to give them a deposit for half of the price which I did. I dropped off the car on that date, they did the installation, went back to pick it up and was presented with a final bill that was $800 more than what I was quoted! Turns out the original quote didn’t include installation! What? I’m pretty sure people don’t do the installation of a convertible top themselves. The owner was there and responded to my questions with a very curt response of “you authorized the work”! At the bottom of the quote and the final bill there is a note indicating that supplies, shipping, and taxes are not included. Nowhere does it say installation is not included and the deposit they requested for half the quoted price did not include the $800 as well. Seems to be intentionally deceptive! There are multiple reviews saying the same thing. I filed this same complaint with the BBB, EU received it and did not respond. Apparently, they are ok with slimy business practices."

"i was shocked to see the negative review and F rating for Gianinnis - not sure what went wrong with that particular customer. My long term experience has been totally different. i have used Gianinnis as my auto repair shop for 20 years to maintain a 1995 Ford Explorer, 2005 Cadillac Escalade and a 2002 Infinity I35 as they came off factory warranty coverage.The Explorer and Escalade are used for work and get heavy service and I probably wasn't as attentive to regular maintenance as I should have been but the Escalade is still running strong with 270k miles on it and the Infinity with 174k miles. I got the Infinity on the BG warranty system. My experience is that they keep computerized records of all repairs and all suggested maintenance or repair items even if you decline them. I frequently put off maintenance items until the next oil check and get several items done at the same time. They are not pushy about doing maintenance items but they will explain why they recommends it and what cost or repair it is designed to prevent. I have followed their recommendations and have had good running high mileage vehicles which is what I want. They do a good job of estimating what is involved and what the cost will be but as anyone who has any basic knowledge of repair work knows - it is not uncommon for one repair to expose another issue that either has to be repaired or should be repaired while the engine is opened up - they call and give an explanation and if I authorize it they get it done - I have never had a question about being sold something I did not need. When I have declined or put off a service or repair I have full knowledge and know I am taking an informed risk . I have high mileage vehicles that are totally paid off and running great - looking for another 100k ( 4 - 5 years) from them at reasonable maintenance cost."

"We requested tile and Grout cleaning as you advertised. I will say Calvin was on time and very professional! I had totally refurbished this house for resell and all that was left was the floor cleaning of the tile and grout in 2 large rooms. I expected the grout to be cleaned of all grime and residue and the tile to be shiny when done? I had swept and mopped all areas previously, no furniture was on the floors when Calvin arrived. His first process was to spray all areas with a cleaner (smelled like rug shampoo), I questioned the type of cleaner, he assured me it was for “tile & grout”. Then Calvin used the spray nozzle with a semi-stiff brush and proceeded to vacuum and sweep the areas. I questioned if this would be enough to clean the areas. Anyway all areas were wet with soap so I really had no choice but to have him continue. After drying, he sprayed a sealer on all areas. So, this whole process took approximately 1&1/2 hours. While he was figuring the bill I pointed out a couple of small areas at our feet (looked like small rust stain) and demonstrated to Calvin how to clean these with a drop of dish soap and a scrubbing pad, they cleaned up with a few strokes and a wipe with a paper towel. Calvin then informed me that the marble floor was dull upstairs and he could give me a contact that would be able to polish? I had told him before he started that I expected clean and shiny when done by Stanley Steemer!"
