I recently had my '99 Miata's convertible top replaced by Dr. Vinyl in St. Peters, and I was very impressed by all that John Reese's shop did to stand behind their work.
My Miata's top was damaged by hail, so I ordered a new top with a rain rail (plastic connection between the top and the car body) from Tops Online. Once I received the top, I shopped around for a top shop that would install the top, even though I did not purchase it from them. John at Dr. Vinyl agreed to install the top for $420, less than competing shops.
After I delivered the car and top, and the top was installed, I noticed that I was still getting rainwater leaking into the trunk. I had had the problem prior to getting the new top, so thought that the problem would have been solved. I took the Miata back to John, and they discovered that the top sold by Tops Online did not actually come with the rain rail it was ordered with. They attempted to repair the existing rain rail, but it continued to leak.
Tops Online, since they said that the top's serial number indicated that it was delivered with a new rain rail even though it did not, would not honor an exchange or provide a new rain rail.
I ordered a new rain rail at my own expense from another vendor (and vowed never to use Tops Online again), and John's shop took the time to install the new rain rail (two hours labor) at their own expense, even though the original problem was not their fault.
My bottom line is that Dr. Vinyl and John Reese stand firmly behind their work, do an excellent job and have my highest recommendation for anyone looking for convertible top replacements.
