"Work was hindered by concrete providers not giving Josh Donigan firm delivery commitments. But once obtained, Josh and crew went to work leveling the area in my yard and pouring the concrete. I can't say enough on his professionalism and communications throughout this project. He is definitely a man of his word and conscientious of doing his job well. Would recommend him for any outside work."

"John is meticulous and amazingly fair with his pricing. I had the SAME part replaced 5 years ago and this time John installed it better than the last company, double checked EVERYTHING and the bill was half of the last contractor. That is simply unheard of these days. He is going to be out this spring to replace the AC units, very happy and glad to find him here on HA. LGS"

Customers say: Quality work

"My furnace went out during a very harsh cold snap. He responded quickly and professionally. When others said they would have to special order a part, he drove from downtown KC to Lenexa to pick it up and install the same day. Cost was reasonable and competitive with other quotes. No extra service call fee, which is a bonus considering others would have charged as much as $100 in addition the repair costs."

While possums don’t typically carry rabies, they can have lice, fleas, ticks, and mites. According to the University of California’s Pest Management Program, possums can also carry diseases like leptospirosis, tuberculosis, toxoplasmosis, coccidiosis, and fevers. Possums are also the carriers of a parasite that can pass to horses and cats called Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM).

The best animal repellents for gardens include a variety of different scents. You can use predator urine to keep away deer, raccoons, squirrels, and more. The odor will tell the critters that your yard is a dangerous place. Other scents that repel critters are herbs like lavender, geranium, and mint. You can also use hot pepper, garlic, and strong-smelling soap.

A solution of vinegar and water can deter moles, but be careful about the strength of the solution. Too much vinegar can dry out and kill grass or other plants when distributed too frequently.

You’ll want to call a licensed and insured wildlife removal company that offers:

  • Full property inspection—indoor and outdoor

  • Proper animal identification

  • Written management plan with follow-up visits included

  • Humane removal techniques

  • Preventative exclusion measures

If it’s an emergency and you can’t wait, you’ll need to contact an emergency animal control company near you.

Tree sap is not usually dangerous to humans or pets. But some trees do produce dangerous sap. Notably, ash, birch, cedar and similar saps can irritate the skin but aren’t dangerous. Sap from trees like the Brazilwood, Mahogany, Milky Mangrove or well-named Poison Walnut can be corrosive, cause nausea, or trigger those with asthma. But for most backyard trees, protective equipment like a sturdy pair of gloves should be fine.
