"Where have we come to in 2022? What should be the norm is now entirely unexpected. It was thus a very pleasant surprise to have an honest, individual to deal with. Having moved into a new house which had not been appropriately taken care of by the previous owner, we thought we needed to have our fireplaces and chimneys cleaned prior to installation of fireplace doors. Jeff arrived on time, was extremely polite and quickly assessed our planned usage of the fireplaces. He then advised us that all we needed were the fireplace doors thus saving us from unnecessarily spending money on the cleaning. Thank you Jeff. We appreciate your honest assessment and advice. You are the only person we would call, if our fireplaces or chimneys should need any attention in the future."

"SirVent was able to work with another company to custom-fabricate an energy top chimney damper and install it for my over-sized chimney. It took a couple of tries to get it to properly function, but they saw it through to a successful completion."

"Mirelli saved the day after my chimney was damaged by a tree trimming company. I had a bid less than 24 hours after I called, and they were able to fix the chimney a few days after that. Everyone at Mirelli was so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Mirelli."

"Josh installed a new cap on my chimney when the old one came off from hail and wind. He came the next day as promised, installed the cap for the reasonable price he quoted and was very professional. I will use him again in the future for chimney work."

"He seemed very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I received bad news as my chimney and the cap on top of it had not been installed properly. He gave me a quote on repairing it and advice on what I could do in the meantime."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

By accurate installation, using quality materials, and providing care advice.

The recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) for cleaning vinyl siding can vary, so it's best to consult the manufacturer's guidelines. Generally, vinyl siding can handle high pressure, from 2,500 to 3,500 PSI. For comparison, more delicate materials like wood and aluminum siding should not face more than 1,500 PSI. To safely disperse the pressure on vinyl, use a tip with a wider spray span, such as a green (25-degree) or yellow (15-degree) nozzle. For routine cleaning of light dirt, a garden hose with a spray nozzle may be sufficient. Always exercise caution to avoid using excessive pressure that could damage the siding.

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.

Clean regularly, balance water chemistry, and inspect for tears or wrinkles in the liner.

In-ground pools lose water naturally due to wind, heat, and humidity. They also lose water from the kiddos' cannonball competitions. But be mindful of the water level. If it drops too low and the pump draws in air instead of water, it will likely be damaged and require repair or replacement.
