"all work was completed as planned. This crew had the added challenge of hauling all the concrete and limestone mixture up my steep driveway to fill the pumping machine. Having done this type of work before, I know how much additional effort this required. When work was done the crew thoroughly cleaned the work area and driveway. Crew asked for my input on the job before they started cleaning. I was very happy with the professionalism and work ethic of this crew. They would recommend Metro Concrete to anyone who needs concrete raising."

"Chris and Mike did an excellent job! Our sidewalk was sinking 2-3 inches in spots. They explained exactly how the process works. Started the job on time and was very professional. I'm impressed with how well it turned out. Our sidewalk is now level. Thank you!"

"I am so pleased with the service, price and outcome!! The guys were efficient, hardworking, pleasant and friendly. There were a few glitches, such as the deck steps blocking one concrete slab, and they went above and beyond expectations in getting the job done just right. The concrete is now level and it looks great!!"

"This is 2nd project I had American waterworks help me with. First was basement wall stabilizing, this one sidewalk leveling. Both crews were well knowledgeable, kind, explained procedures. Very happy with this company!"

"John raised three sections of concrete apron and one adjoining section of sidewalk that had been sinking over the years. Just as important, he caulked the joint between the garage floor and the apron, not just on the part he raised but along the entire front of the garage. It looks fantastic. John was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He welcomed my husband and me to watch him at work and gave us some good advice for tackling a future challenge. He was so easy to work with. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.
