"The Baker's company were very polite, very accommodating and did an excellent job of carpet washing and stain removal. The pricing was fine for the amount of work. I would highly recommend them to every one who needs the carpet wash"

"I am very pleased to recommend Ohana Clean LLC for carpet cleaning! Last year, Ohana cleaned our carpets (3 rooms and stairs) and I was more pleased than I ever had been with a cleaning company. I needed cleaning again (kind of an afterthought while thinking ahead to a party we’re hosting Sunday) so I tried to find their contact info. But it was to no avail. So I reached out on another company’s site asking for an appointment and quote. Then I stumbled across my business card for Ohana and had them back out today. They are very reasonably priced - and their work is superb, super, and superior to any other carpet cleaners. My 20-year-old carpet looks awesome and they got some stains out that were “iffy”. I know have them in my contacts and they have earned status as our forever carpet cleaners!! Kudos Ohana! ?? BTW I still haven’t heard from the big company I messaged."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Many DIYers and pros start installing flooring in the middle of a room to ensure a balanced, symmetrical layout, especially when using tiles or planks. This process is particularly helpful in odd-shaped rooms because it allows you to create a centerline from which to work. Beginning in the center will enable you to work toward the edges so the final layout feels intentional and centered, even if the walls aren’t perfectly square.

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

The complexity of installation depends on the type of flooring you choose and the level of expertise required to install it. While some materials, like vinyl or laminate, offer relatively straightforward installation processes suitable for DIY enthusiasts, others, such as natural stone or hardwood, often require professional assistance from a flooring company to ensure proper fitting and longevity.

Carpeting lasts between 10 and 15 years in most cases, but keep an eye out for common signs that it's time to replace it. Persistent smells despite deep cleaning, faded color, worn-down carpet padding, and general wear and tear are signs that it's time to tear it up. If you are experiencing allergy issues indoors, this could also be a sign that new flooring is the key to a fresher home.
