"Randy Gardner responded immediately to my request for a visit and estimate. He looked inside and outside, and told me I did not need to go to the expense of the drain tile and waterproofing. He said the house (build in 1917) had settled, and that the sidewalk along the side of the house was sinking toward the house, resulting in the water in the basement. He recommended removing the existing sidewalk, and laying new concrete with the proper slope away from the house. Although it was not a cheap fix, it was half of what I feared it would cost. "Installation of a new natural gas water heater was done in about 3 hours. He had to come up with a way to have the water heater raised as it sits on a drain pad and the flat surface of the heater bottom would have closed off the drain. The old heater has legs. He used PVC pipe pieces to elevate this new heater. He replaced the gas shutoff valve and the water shutoff valve. The old ones were over 36 years old."
