"Gardner supplied an estimate back in November, but because of the holidays, we didn't act immediately. Once we'd had our first rain this year, we realized we needed to act again, and Gardner honored our original estimate. I think I called on a Friday, and they offered to do the job the following Wednesday. I had to do minimum prep to make the basement ready for them. They arrived promptly at 7:30, the time they had scheduled to start. There were 3 people on site to work, including the owner. It took them about 7 hours to complete the work. They left our basement clean. They were good about asking how we wanted things done--where we wanted to place the sump pump and the drainage pipe. They patched part of the foundation where the concrete had chipped away. We haven't had enough rain yet to really put their work to the test, but we are impressed with their workmanship and felt the price was reasonable for the work done.

I have been in building maintenance for over 15 years and have seen it all. I repair plumbing fixtures to light fixtures. I repair appliances and clean out dryer vents.

"Called and made an appointment. The plumber, Lee, showed up as scheduled. We discovered that the shut-off valve for the water to our condo unit was in another owner's unit. That owner was not home, so we had to reschedule the appointment.
I rescheduled the appointment and was told the plumber would arrive at 8:00 a.m., the first appointment for the day. On the day, the plumber did not show up at 8:00. I ended up calling to see why the plumber had not arrived. I was told that another plumber was out that day, which had thrown the schedule off. (I realize these things happen. I do wish they had called to tell me there would be a delay as the water had been shut off for three units and was keeping another unit owner--in whose unit the main shut off valve was--from going to work.)
When Lee arrived, he apologized for the delay. He replaced the shut-off valve and installed the new fill valve, which stopped the toilet from running. He also lowered the fill water level to save water. Lee cleaned up any mess made by the work and was clear at explaining what had been done and about how to use the shut-off valve in a way that could help it last longer (e.g. not turning it too far or too tightly when turning it off.) Lee explained that I was being charged for the 15 minutes from the first call (when we could not shut off the main water line to our unit) plus labor and parts for this work. (There was an apprentice with Lee both times who was very friendly and professional.)
A few hours after Lee left, the toilet began running again. I could not get it to stop, so I called and got an appointment for a time when I could be home a few days later. For this third visit, Jeff was the plumber. He replaced an O-seal on the flush valve with an extra I had on hand. He also removed some debris from the toilet tank that he thought might be interfering with the seal. He also adjusted the water fill level, which added more pressure to the flush valve, which stopped the toilet from running. He did not charge us for this call, since he was adjusting work done earlier.
Though it was a bit convoluted, we still appreciate the work done. We appreciated the idea of using less water with each flush, and appreciated the "learning" that the water needs to be a certain level to keep the flush valve from running.

I called him to make an appointment and since he was in the area already, he offered to stop by and take a look at my plumbing, which by the way, he didn't even charge me for!! I had received an estimate from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing at which time I was told I needed to replace the entire injector pump, which turned out to be absolutely not true. Not to mention the fact, Benjamin, wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money!! Jeff, came in and saved the day for a mere fraction of the cost Benjamin Plumbing, was trying to charge me. Not only would I highly recommend Boevaag Plumbing, but I intend on using them for my bathroom and kitchen remodel when the time comes!!"
