Customers say: True professional

"Jason gave us a very fair bid and did a quick but very thorough job. We asked him to replace both tub and lav sink faucets, remove some old PVC and galvanized pipes and streamline our laundry sink setup. He completed all the work and cleaned up after himself as well. We will use him again for additional projects."

"Ronnie was awesome! He worked hard and got the job done in a timely manner. His rates were very reasonable. Tore up floor and replace rotted pipes. The place was a mess but he cleaned it up completely. Out of five stars I give him 10."

"I had a French drain installed in my existing basement to deal with water seepage issues. The job took 2 1/2 days and was challenging due to having to work around footers that supported the stairs. The crew moved through each obstacle with speed and efficiency. I was also impressed by how clean they were. They even put up plastic walls to keep dust out of the rest of the basement. When they left, the floor was probably cleaner than when they arrived! With all the recent rain I can now hear the water trickling from the new drain pipe into my sump pit. Much better than on my floor..."

"I want to give a huge shout-out to Derek Kragenbring from SafeBasements for his integrity and professionalism. We had persistent basement flooding, and two previous contractors convinced us to spend over $6,000 on a sump pump and humidifier. After the install, the flooding got worse, and they suggested tearing down our bathroom wall for more work. We called SafeBasements for a second opinion, and Derek quickly identified the real issue: our water softener was discharging water into a clogged drain. We didn't need a sump pump at all—just a simple plumbing fix! Thank you, Derek, for your honesty. You saved us from a massive headache and even more unnecessary expenses. We only wish we had called you sooner. If you need an honest, expert assessment, definitely reach out to Derek at SafeBasements!"

"Excellent!!  this provider is extremely qualified, responsive and very quality oriented.  His team arrived on time, were very polite and friendly and you could tell they all worked together as a team.  I had prepared a grading plan and Jason was so exact in his quest to give me the best drainage possible, he repeated taking grade measurements throughout his process.  He must have re-verified the gradient at least 8 times to make sure we got it right.  Great job of grading and sodding and debris removal.  Price was good and what we had agreed upon.  I would use him again in a heartbeat!!!  I would also recommend him to others.

"We had a humidifier installed. They installed it quickly and professionally. The installer Jimmy was very helpful and even gave me a couple pointers in regards to installing a wifi thermostat. I've always had great experiences with Kath/Aquarius home services and will definitely use them again."

"Had a small retaining wall installed and it was an all around great experience. No pushy sales or outrageous pricing. Dan was great to work with on the installation. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Clark Companies again on other landscaping projects."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Even if the shower drain doesn’t seem clogged or dirty, plan to clean it out about once per month—or more frequently if you or your family shed a lot of hair. It’s a good practice to remove any hair from the drain on a daily basis, as hair can accumulate fast and cause clogs in no time. You may also want to have a plumber thoroughly clean the drains in your home once every six months.

For homes with a septic tank, harsh chemicals like those found in drain cleaner or bleach aren’t recommended. Some chemical drain cleaners can disrupt the balance of bacteria in the septic tank or damage your pipes. For homes with a septic tank, you can choose drain cleaners specifically formulated for use with septic tanks or go with a drain snake. When in doubt, make sure you know who to call for a clogged drain

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

There are several signs that can indicate your leach lines are broken, failing, or in need of repair, including puddles of water or a marshy consistency to the ground above or around the pipes, slow drainage or plumbing backups inside your home, and noticeable odors or gurgling sounds coming from your leach field. Keeping your septic system properly maintained, including having your septic tank pumped at regular intervals, can help ensure your leach lines stay in good working order for a long time.
