used the shuttle to go shopping in the area and that was a very nice service. Waiting area and sales floor very neat and clean. When he found the part for a very reasonable price, he urged me to fix the fixture rather than getting a new one and that was the right decision for us at this time. He drove out to get the part, installed it and then diagnosed the other problem promptly and expertly, again giving us a good suggestion -- this time to replace the fixture ourselves. He is personable, prompt and responsive, clean, nice and also very professional and I believe his years of experience make him one of the best deals around. I dropped my boat off on a Monday morning after having some trouble starting the motor on the previous Saturday at the lake, so I had asked them to try to solve the problem and also to fix my tilt-and-trim switch (they said a tune-up would be $80 and a $25 switch should do it); since I respected their pricing and was only into it for $100, I figure it would be a great time to replace a bent prop blade (the quote to replace it was $140),and finally I needed a small bracket for my trailer to support the motor guide arm (I figured that would be less than $20)... so I'm anticipating spending $260 and feeling pretty good about going to Tensen Marine at this point.
So, each day I would drive right by this shop on my way to work, but I noticed that I hadn't really seen my boat move at all during the first week. I called them ten days after dropping it off to see what the status of the repairs was (anticipating to pick it up soon) but I got a response that stated they "would be able to get to it over the next couple of days" and that the repairs shouldn't be "any trouble at all". So, I told them since it was already mid-September, I probably would just store the boat for the winter - I asked them what it would take to get my boat ready for the winter and the response I got was "it's no big deal, we'll just fog the carbs and stabilize the fuel".
Well, four more days later, I finally walked into the shop on a Saturday with my young son and daughter expecting to pay around $300, but when the women at the counter was done giving me her "what do you want" look, she casually grabs the invoice and says "that'll be four hundred and ninety-seven dollars". I felt like she had just kicked me in the stomach! Now keep in mind, since committing to the early figure of $260, I was expecting to spend around $300, so I said to her "how does that happen that no one from your shop has the courtesy to call and make me aware that an additional $200 was going to be needed for the repairs? She plays the "I'm just the cashier" card and just expects me to give her the money. At this point, I'm looking at my kids trying not to lose it and all I keep thinking to myself is "what am I doing spending this much money on a 1979 Lund with a 40 hp motor that I use a few times a year"!
I proceed to speak with one of the owners about the bill and I explained what I had agreed to and so we went through the invoice, itemizing and questioning why this charge and why that charge - because they charged me separately for "fogging the carb" and then a full $80 for winterizing. He tells me that some of the charges were questionable, then he wrote down my address and informed me that he'd look into it and likely send me a reimbursement check. GREAT! Until I wait another week only to hear nothing, so I call them back, only to find out that they are willing to send me a check for $35.... what... after all the breakdowns in communication and service, you feel that $35 is the right course of action?
Well, I guess my course of action as a consumer is that I feel it is important to give others the heads-up, and now I understand why people like us sincerely appreciate the ability to use a great resource like Angie's List! To end this story... the reimbursement check never found its way to my mailbox... and I have to wait six more months to see if the work they did will be satisfactory. Roxanne had a little difficulty getting paid at first because she had trouble filling in the paperwork to start charging with my credit card, but she got that figured out. A concern I usually have about roofing contractors: This is not the practice of Wright-at-Home, but it is the practice of other roofing companies in the Twin Cities. Most of the roofing is done by immigrants. My concern is that they may be undocumented workers and therefore unable to collect social security later in life for the labor they performed. It now seems to be the practice in the United States and in the last 7 years or so in the Twin Cities to use undocumented laborers. I don't mind them getting a job; I do mind them not getting an equal wage and social security benefits. I must wonder if there is a moral way our roofing companies can work to get these people green carded so that they can move into the mainstream of society, I have students who have families that might have members here in that situation and I understand their social plight, but this does lower the prevailing wage for all laborers. I would be willing to pay a higher price if I knew everybody could get their benefits later on in life when they too need them. We will pay for them now or at the hospital and other places later if we don't obey the laws set up to cover all laborers. To me if I could walk out and ask to see a laborers green card and he displayed it, I would consider that an automatic 10% bonus to the company for obeying the law of the land. Congratulations to Wright At Home for covering all laborers legally. I held off on posting this because I noticed our shingles didn't lay real flat, but they seemed to hold up the severe wind we had in early June so they seem to work out just fine. Later I found that it was specific brand of roofing tile used that is a better quality, it appears this roofing tile does not lay flat like other roofing tile, but rather, sticks out more like shakes. When I called Roxanne, the contact person she said that this is exceptional roofing material. I tend to believe her because she seems to be a trustworthy person and they have one of the highest ratings on Angie's List. We had hail damage this summer on our siding and I plan to use them if everything works out OK for them to do the repair work. Twin Cities contractors, if you work like Wright-At-Home Services who hire only documented workers, and/or help the ones you are hiring get documented and advertise that you do so, it would benefit the whole community. You would distinguish yourselves as a cut above the rest in that way as well. Angie's list people tend to be socially conscious and they are a prime target. I looks to me that Wright-At-Home Services understands that and is willing to work to cover both their laborers and their customers."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mn/blaine/wright-at-home-roofing-and-exteriors-reviews-166777.htm"},"position":9}]}

Was the best experience I've had with a company in installing and repairing something I needed done.
He quickly diagnosed the problems and gave suggestions on whether these old fixtures were worth repairing, even calling around for a particular unusual part for the most troublesome of the two problems. When he found the part for a very reasonable price, he urged me to fix the fixture...
Eric is prompt, courteous, timely and best of all does excellent work! He knows alot about homes and virtually everything about home repair and offers up suggestions or quickly fixes things like new. I also believe he is very efficient in his work and I appreciate that he will get what he...

"My 94 yo mother has been a customer of Como Oil for decades. She even pre pays for every home fuel oil fill. On 6-27-23 Como greatly overfilled the tank which is in a finished basement Where we live. Grade 2 Fuel oil spilled outside of the home and onto the foundation, and then it flooded the basement. The fumes were so intense we became very sick. I spoke with the Hibbing MN manager, who could have cared less what my elderly Mom was going through with the fuel oil spill inside her home!!! He told me it wasn’t his problem since it was inside the house. Don’t EVER do business with this company. We had a credit of over $3000 dollars at Como and they said it would take 6-8 weeks to CUT a refund check. Come on? What a pathetic response. They caused the toxic spill, my 94 yo mother did not cause it. They took advantage of her. We want everyone to know how little they care about their long term customers, and how they placed us at a high health and safety risk. The gas hot water tank pilot light was only 3 feet away from the liquid spilled fuel oil. I did not want to give Como even a 1 Star rating, they deserve a ZERO."

FAQs for gas fireplace repair projects in Britt, MN
Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.
The cost to install a fireplace is $2,440 on average. This cost can range from $150 to $8,000 or more, depending on the type of fireplace, the materials used, and the size.
Electric fireplaces cost around $1,000 to install, and mostly only require wiring installation. Installing a wood fireplace from scratch could cost upwards of $10,000, depending on the foundation needed to support the weight of the fireplace. In addition, gas fireplaces can cost between $2,500 and $10,000.
The cost to remodel your fireplace is $1,200 on average. This cost can range from $400 to $2,000, depending on the extent of work needed.
If you add a hearth to your fireplace, you can expect to pay between $3 and $200per square foot. However, if you're refacing your fireplace, the price tag will depend on your chosen materials. If choosing tile, you can pay between $1 and $50per square foot, depending on the design. Stone is a more expensive material, averaging between $60 and $70 per square foot.
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
