Trust Four Seasons Hardwood Floors this Holiday. Four Seasons Hardwood Floors is here to help you enjoy the festivities even more with our Holiday Special pricing. Call us TODAY for Details! We are seasoned hardwood flooring professionals with over 25-years of experience. Our crew of over 20 floor mechanics provide quality sand, stain and refinish services as well as installation for both residential and commercial clients. We have a $1,000 minimum and can accommodate jobs of any size in any city in Oakland County and surrounding areas with scheduling availability within 72 hours after estimate accepted.

"TLDR: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I'm out $12k and have to pay another company to replace the floors Four Seasons destroyed. When I first met with Rob he came to the house I had just purchased and was very confident as he made his way around my house looking at my floors. He explained the type of wood floors the house had and made sure to give me a timeline for how long the job would take. He concretely stated it would take 3 days to complete the work. His confidence gave me confidence that he would do a great job. After receiving the quote for roughly $12,000, we pulled the trigger and hired Four Seasons. We scheduled the work to be done before we moved into the house with the 3-day window Rob stated would take the crew to complete the job. When the crew showed up, they laughed in my face when I told them we were moving in. They said the job would take a week at minimum to complete. I didn't have an option to bump back my move in date as I was moving from across the state and had to move out of our old house. Rob came through and said they will have to do 1 floor first then the other and we'll have to move our furniture around to accommodate. I was annoyed but, it was getting done so, whatever. Once they got our dining room/den sanded down, it was explained to me that the floors were engineered hardwood and they sanded through to the plywood in a few spots. Oops! Rob said "no big deal. We can come back later and replace those few boards." They also never finished reinstalling the shoe molding through roughly 50% of the house. He claimed he would come back "in a couple of weeks to get it finished up." So, I had him come back to replace the boards in the floor and look at the molding in which he said "no, you can't really do that" and said we should just replace the whole floor in that room for "about $4500 to $5000". Understandably, I was p***** but what could I do? Fast forward 6 months and we're in the middle of summer and humidity. With the increase in humidity the parquet floor in the family room buckled in 2 different directions. This floor has been in the house since 1962 and has never buckled. However, when he refinished the floor he said it was "loose and needed tightening." to which he then tightened and glued the ends so it would stay tight. He claimed to have "fixed" the floor. Now it's so tight that it doesn't allow for expansion and contraction. I messaged Rob about this to which he got an attitude and said that it had nothing to do with his work and it was a moisture problem I needed to solve. I let him know this has never happened in the past and he said they I should just contact a different professional. I've had 3 different floor companies all come out and take one look at the floor, shake their head and then apologize for laughing. Every company has let me know how I got screwed in the deal and they the sanding of the engineered wood should never have happened and the "tightening" of the parquet is what ruined the floor. To say that I'm disappointed is the understatement the year. I spent $12k on "refinished" floors that now just have to be completely replaced because Four Seasons came through and essentially destroyed them."

"Their work goes by hours. They did the work really slow and it took a long time for them to accomplish so little. I asked to get the stain removed on the kitchen ceiling. They recommended to repaint the whole ceiling and it took them 6 hours to do a lousy job. There were a few pops here and there after the painting. They spent 2 hours on the bathroom recaulking and didn't have time for the entry door fix. Maybe they didn't know how to do it and tried to find an excuse to get away with easy work. Their work is way overpriced for more than $80 per hour. The old owner is semi-retired and the son is taking over. However, he is covering for his buddies for the lousy work. All their good reviews are probably from the old owner and their business now is going down the drain."

Tandem Tile and Stone, LLC is a locally owned and operated company. All of our services are performed by company employees. Our crews are always lead by an experienced tile setter. We have experience in most every kind of tile product and installation. We also have experience with veneer and natural stone. We do interior and exterior work. Our crews are polite and professional. Our employees wear company shirts so that they look presentable for a residential or commercial project.

"We wanted some shower safety bars installed in our shower, but were told by more than one workman that that could not be done because our present (one-piece fiberglass) shower couldn't accomodate them. So we contacted Tandem Tile to replace our old shower with a new, tile one. The owner, Steve, arrived within a few days to look at the shower space and talked to me about possibilities for the new one. He was prompt, courteous, helpful and we quickly agreed on a plan. The tiles were chosen, and I was to select all the hardware (the shower head, bars, faucets, etc). and I visited Lowe's, Home Depot, Mendards, and even went on line. But I found the assignment overwhelming. I couldn't decide! So I called Steve and pleaded for help, which he provided via his trusty aide, Bill, who did all the leg work and sent me suggestions as to what was available and what he thought would be suitable and attractive. He made my chore so easy, and I know he did a better job of selecting than I would have! Noah and Marcus did a beautiful job of setting the tile, but they also did an excellent job of demolishing our old shower, making sure there was a minimum of dust and debris, putting down materials to protect our rugs and wood floors, using some kind of machine to filter out the dust from the air, and always, always taking off their shoes or using booties to keep tracks to a minimum. Oh, and they were polite and courteous, too. When the job was done, I ralized I had made a big mistake in situating one of the shelves on the wall. I called Steve and asked how difficut it would be to move or remove the shelf. I figured it would possibly ruin a portion of the wall. But he assurred me it could be done and was there within a couple of days and did the work himself. Not only could it be done, it was done and done very well. I am so pleased with the results. I have shown my new shower to friends and to the neighborhood "inspectors" (curious neighbors ) who all agree on the beautiful workmanship. My husband and I couldn't be happier. I don't think Five Stars is enough! I highly recommend this company, the owner and his work force. Sincerely, Rosemary Kowalski"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.

Flooring installation usually takes about one to three days, so it’s a project you can do over a long weekend if you plan to DIY. Keep in mind that for some types of flooring, like hardwood or laminate, you’ll need to let the floor panels sit out of the packaging to acclimate them to their future home. This step will add at least a day to the project time, but it will help minimize the risk of warping due to changes in temperature and humidity.

The lifespan of bathroom tile is 50 or more years, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. Leaving installation to a pro and regularly cleaning, resealing, and regrouting the tile can help lengthen the life of your tile and save you money in repairs and retiling in the long run.

You have creative freedom when it comes to your tile trim. If, however, you are considering skipping tile trim, please think twice about that. It is good practice to install tile trim, whether on walls or flooring. Think, too, about the aesthetic you are going for and choose a trim type and color that will help enhance the space.

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.
