Customers say: Quality work

"Bill called me shortly after I sent out my request to home advisor. They came to work the second day. It turned out to be a touch project. The fireplace floor had to be removed and new 4-6'' of concrete footing was poured. Dave reinstalled fireplace brick in fireplace walls carefully like an artist. It took them extra long hours to complete the job, but they left a beautiful fireplace to me without asking for any extra money."

"John Gorie was extremely knowledgeable about glass replacement. He was able to successfully work around a few problems he encountered with the removal of the cracked glass (1992 version), and I'm sure it took longer than expected. I was impressed with how carefully he worked (alone, no less), that he cleaned up once work was finished, and I appreciated his keeping me informed of the process both by text and in person. He also worked hard to give me a decent price for the job (and I apologize for my barking dog!) Once the final caulking is done, the door (with the new glass) will look amazing. Thanks, John!"

"Bill came to my house 15 minutes after I called. He was very professional and courteous. He had to order the glass and had it replaced a day later. Any future glass work will be with Insta I Glass!"

"My husband was not home when the salesman came over, and I appreciated the fact that he sat down and talked in depth with me, a woman, instead of assuming I could not make financial decisions alone. He presented some very interesting information about windows (e.g. the NFRC) allowing us to make an educated decision about our purchase. The installation guys were friendly and fast, did a great job and even were understanding when my toddler touched the wet caulk."

"they did a great job. happy with the 6 widow they installed. only complaint was that it took a long time to get the windows in but this was during covid so it was more to do with that. but the work was very good and they cleaned up after them selves. can't tell they were even there"

"

They were prompt, the sales was low-pressure, the door itself was lifetime warranted, and the install was smooth.  After the install they cleaned up the mess and remove the old door.  Because the door was lifetime warranted, All Weather Seal has come out to repair it in the past, and has always been as professional as ever.  An excellent company, I have used them to replace all of my windows as well. Highly recommended!

"Bryan is very professional and friendly. He knows all the important handymen skills, and enjoys his work. The downspouts and new vinyl soffit look great, and are much better designed than the original work on my 1920's home. Bryan has a large "brake" for metal flashing, and he was able to make nice cuts and bends to the new flashing on the garage fascia boards. One of the old pipe-style downspouts went through the garage's flat roof, and Bryan and I worked together to design and attached a cap over the opening. I have used his services before, and will call him again when needed.

"They did a nice job on our deck. It was a real tough job and they did a nice job. We're on the water and it's not against the house or anything, it's only against a sea wall that moves. It was quite a complex configuration, and it was 80 feet across. They're good. I would bring them back again. I liked their communication and the fact that they were flexible. I like the overall quality of their work. If there was something I didn't like, they addressed it or adjusted it."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners helps prevent buildup and maintains clarity.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.
