"I hired Doty to repair a vent pipe. The work was completed. I have asked several times for a detailed invoice of the work performed and equipment that was rented to complete the work and have yet to receive that invoice or even a call to discuss the issue. I believe that they overcharged me for a piece of equipment that they not even use to complete the work. They also damaged my yard while attempting to use this equipment and never once have I been contacted by a manger as I requested. Their customer service is terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone!"

It’s a better use of energy (and your money) NOT to run an ERV system all the time. Most experts recommend that you cycle your ERV system on and off throughout the year. However, the recommended advice could change based on your climate, the number of people in your home, the size and style of your home, and your heating and cooling system. There are three main types of heat pumps. An air-source heat pump system is the most common and has two parts—an indoor air handler unit and an outdoor heat pump unit. A ductless heat pump system functions similarly to an air-source heat pump system but doesn’t need ductwork to distribute the air. A geothermal heat pump system pulls heat from the ground to help heat your home.

The most obvious downside is the high upfront cost of buying and installing one of these systems. Additionally, sometimes the system can take a longer time to heat than alternatives like a boiler.
