"Job included minor drywall repair in kitchen soffit and to a lace ceiling, and painting of repairs (and two extra rooms and trim), and our entryway wall and trim as well as the stairway walls and trim (to the top of the stairs). The drywall repairs were seamlessly done, and the painting of the repairs and spraying of lace ceiling very good. We know that lace ceiling repairs are hard to match, but these are nearly flawless match. The painting of the other rooms (dining and parlor), were completed with the same professionalism, quality, and care for my property as the repairs in the kitchen. Mario was quick to respond to questions and very responsive with changes made at the last minute. The job took 3 days. I highly recommend Reyes Painting to everyone reading this review. We are a family owned and operated company with 5 main employees. We also have a hand full of employees that we subcontract employment out to just incase our workload gets to be to big for us to handle so we don't never have to reschedule an appointment with our customers.

"I will definitely not hire them again. I hired them to drywall our newly framed basement and paint it. They ran out of materials multiple times and had to rent a truck from home depot to get more. They took significantly longer to complete the project because one of them didn't show up. When they did the drywall they misaligned it and we had a big section in our ceiling that was lower than the rest. They also pieced it together because they ran out of drywall and the screws were popping out all over the place. They did one coat of mud and painted before sanding then went back and sanded so we had to buy more paint. Overall they just seemed completely overwhelmed by our 2 room project and unprofessional."

It is possible to repair plaster yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster repair is easy in theory but difficult in practice. Applying repair plaster is straightforward, but ensuring the area is prepped properly to receive the new plaster and ensuring that the finished product looks smooth and professional both demand experience. Although their applications are very similar, no drywall compound and spackle are not the same thing. Spackle is a bit thicker and is used to patch holes as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. Joint compound shrinks a bit more and can be more temperamental to spread. However, one benefit is that you can use joint compound as spackle (for small jobs), but you can’t use spackle as joint compound.
