"Martin and his team has been working on various projects with us for the past 2 years. Martin initially changed 2 of the windows and he did a great job at an unbeatable price, we subsequently had him change the 3 patio windows. Martin made sure the style matched the other windows and got the job done well within budget. We were so happy with the work that we asked him to replace all the 12 windows throughout the rest of the house as well. We also got 2 bathrooms and one powder room remodeled and got the kitchen redesigned including new cabinets, flooring, backsplash, insert lights, under cabinet lights and pendant lights. The reason I recommend Martin is that he works with your budget and your design. Very transparent about pricing as well, for instance he has receipts for all raw materials so you can be assured of what’s been used. The other big thing about Martin is his projects are turnkey, he addresses any associated issues that come up during the project (trust me, there is always something unplanned that comes up that needs fixing) and is very reasonable with pricing. E.g. when we did the flooring, we found the floor boards were squeaky and some needed replacement, he address all the issues promptly, fixed up the gradient - unlike some other big companies that don’t do any extra work in spite of charging boat loads of money. He and his team are very trustworthy, cost-effective, punctual, efficient and they always clean up after work has been completed for the day."

GoldLeaf Building is your go-to contractor for projects ranging from Bath and Kitchen Remodels to New Construction and Additions. We believe in providing a quality product at an affordable price. At GoldLeaf we monitor the amount of work we take in to ensure our customers get the attention they deserve and their project gets completed in the time frame specified. All of our customers will deal directly with an owner who will also take a large role in day to day supervision. GoldLeaf has over 15 years experience in Insurance Restoration Loss Repairs. We can assist you in your time of need to repair damages caused by Fire, Wind, Water, Smoke, Vehicle Impact, or any other loss. We constantly work toward separating ourselves from the pack through planning and communication. We do this by: 1. Making sure your project meets your expectations in the planning process to minimize the 'unknowns' or 'extras'. 2. We work with our vendors to continually achieve the best possible pricing without sacrificing quality. 3. We communicate. You will be contacted as much or as little as you request throughout your project. You choose the method of preferred communication (i.e. phone, email, text) for updates and project related information. 4. Changes occur. No work outside our agreed upon scope will take place without your prior approval of both scope and pricing. You will not have to be concerned with sticker shock at the end of a project.

It’s important to ask an electrician a few questions before you commit to hiring them so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. If you’re getting estimates or considering hiring an electrician, ask them these questions:
Are you a full-time electrician?
Are you bonded, licensed, and insured?
What level of experience do you have as an electrician?
Can you please share three references?
Do you do residential or commercial electrical work?
What kinds of electrical work are you most familiar with?
Will any subcontractors be performing the work?
Are permits and inspections required?
Who is responsible for obtaining permits and inspections?
What is your schedule?
Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Will you sign a do-not-exceed clause to keep the job within the budget?
Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.
Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
Yes, although there are different types of electricians, they must be licensed, certified, and in most cases insured. States have different requirements for electrician licensing and certifications. In some cases, there may be licensing requirements at the local level, but not the state level. It’s always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. If licensing is not required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed electrician with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
