Customers say: Quality work

"

They did a great job, and we have plans to redo a bathroom. I will totally hire those guys to do the electrical. They were just as helpful, friendly, and nice as you could ever want. It was wonderful. They're helpful, and they're willing to make sure everything is perfect. I just thought they were efficient, helpful, they were professional and they knew what they were doing.

"Very happy with my experience with Mr. Electric. I have used them to put in my whole house generator. They were great. Sam Stone is awesome. He showed up on time and upgraded our panel box. I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company and Sam Stone for all electrical services"

"I am just sharing my experience with Electrix (Jeff and Brandon), I had work done in my home due to frequent issues using multiple appliances/TV/fireplace at once, I also needed a fan taken down and a light fixture installed in its place. They were very knowledgeable and professional with everything. I would not hesitate using them again! It is reassuring to know my previously poorly done electrical wiring is now up to par and then some! Everything works now as well! Lol dont hesitate to use them :)"

"Writer is a true professional and electrical guru. He arrived within the allotted time frame, got right to work and quickly identified the problem. He even welcomed me to watch him while he worked as he explained the intricacies of the electrical outlet (which was a GFCI multi-branched oulet, connected to other garage and bathroom outlets). It was clear he knew what he was doing. I would recommend him for any electrical problem or fresh installation, and plan to hire him in the future for other electrical projects I have around my house."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

After electrical work in Macomb, arrange a final inspection with the local building department within 48 hours to confirm code compliance. Update your home insurance records if major upgrades were completed, and keep all warranty and service documentation. Schedule a 30-day check-in to ensure everything operates correctly, and consider installing whole-home surge protection to safeguard your electrical system from Michigan’s frequent storms.

Helpful?

In Macomb, regular electrical system maintenance is essential for safety and code compliance. Schedule yearly inspections for your electrical panel, GFCI outlets, and surge protectors. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors every three months, as recommended for Michigan homes. Inspect outlets and switches monthly for wear or discoloration. For older homes, arrange a professional assessment every 3-5 years to address outdated wiring and ensure your system meets current electrical code standards.

Helpful?

In Macomb, signs like flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, burning odors, or warm outlets point to electrical issues needing prompt attention. If your home has two-prong outlets or aluminum wiring—often found in older properties—schedule a professional evaluation. Problems with HVAC or plumbing systems may require other specialists, but never ignore electrical warning signs, as timely repairs help prevent safety hazards and system failures.

Helpful?

In Macomb, electrical upgrades can temporarily impact interconnected systems like HVAC, security alarms, sump pumps, or smart home devices. For example, rewiring may require shutting off power to your furnace or internet. Before starting any electrical project, review your home’s setup with a qualified professional to identify potential disruptions and ensure all systems are restored and functioning properly after the work is completed.

Helpful?

In Macomb, electrical projects vary in duration based on scope and local requirements. Installing a new outlet or switch typically takes 2-4 hours. Upgrading an electrical panel may take 1-2 days, factoring in inspection scheduling. Whole-house rewiring in a standard Macomb home can require 3-7 days. Emergency repairs are often completed the same day, while inspection approvals usually occur within a few business days.
