"Professional and courteous workers. They did a beautiful job of enlarging and updating shower area to accommodate handicap issues. They asked questions and asked for our input. Also, very thorough with clean up. Our main installers were Tom H,& Matt C. At the wrap up of the project. 2 co-workers Nik K. and Deanthony J. Joined them to help wind up the project. If we decide to update our other bathrooms they will definitely be our team."

"My historic home had many design and installation challenges, but the team did an amazing job. They ended up moving my plumbing, building out a few walls, and built the floor under my shower pan. It was a lot of work and it was a unique situation but their work was perfect nonetheless! No detail was spared and my shower is incredible. I could not be happier with the work."

"My master bathroom shower was leaking into the floor below. Benny was wonderful! The job ended up being a lot more work than they thought. However, they didn't change the price. They just fixed everything. Benny rebuilt the shower (the wood underneath was rotten), replaced the shower pan, liner, took off the shower doors and retiled everything. It took several days but they were on-time, professional and cleaned up after themselves. I will use them again in the future. I'm so glad I found them!"

"They were very efficient with both the tear off & the reshingeing. They did a very good job with their cleanup. They used a magnet roller tool to sweep for any nails or any other metal debris. They covered all the shrubbery so nothing could fall into them."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Always verify permit requirements through the local building department, as most plumbing work requires formal inspections to meet the statewide MI code. Homeowners must adhere to strict state regulations regarding lead pipe replacement and proper disposal protocols. Additionally, understand local combined sewer overflow programs that restrict sump pump discharges. Finally, account for seasonal water quality changes from Lake Huron that necessitate extra filter maintenance.

Helpful?

Knowing your home's construction year helps identify outdated plumbing materials. Request a service line material record from the city to confirm the presence of lead, copper, or galvanized pipes. Verify whether your property connects to a combined or separate sewer system, as this dictates permitted drain connections. Checking local flood zone maps and measuring water pressure at the meter also guide safe and compliant upgrades in Port Huron.

Helpful?

Address any vulnerable plumbing exposed to cold temperatures before November to prevent frozen pipes. Treat uninspected lead service lines in pre-1986 homes and sudden sewer backups as immediate health priorities that require professional attention. You can monitor an aging water heater through one more Port Huron winter. Schedule non-urgent upgrades, like replacing galvanized pipes, for late summer or early fall when local contractors have better availability.

Helpful?

Standard plumbing maintenance in Port Huron includes protecting your system from freezing temperatures. Inspect pipe insulation and test heat tape before winter arrives. Because the local water supply from Lake Huron contains minerals, flush your water heater annually to prevent scale buildup. Additionally, test your sump pump before the spring thaw to handle heavy rainfall, and schedule periodic sewer line inspections if you live in an older waterfront neighborhood.

Helpful?

Older homes built across MI frequently feature galvanized steel pipes, cast iron drains, and lead service lines that complicate plumbing updates. Full basements with gravity-fed drain systems make relocating bathroom fixtures difficult. If your property sits near the Black River or Lake Huron, high water tables and vulnerable crawl spaces add challenges. Properties on a combined sewer system also face strict restrictions regarding sump pump and downspout connections.
