"Actually I was a little nervous about using Johnson's, but once I talked to Mr Johnson and he reassured me of his work, I decided to give him a try and I am glad I did. He did a very good job on my sofa and love seat. The color is a off white and I had never had it cleaned before. By the time he had finished, it looked like new again. I am very pleased with his worked. Thank you very much for recommending him to me."

From the very beginning, I was impressed with the customer service I received.\n\nQuickly I will share with you my story. Very recently, contractors had just completed some work on my home. Unfortunately, while painting, they badly damaged my brand new carpet. I called Stanley Steemer because you were a large size ad in the phone book and because I didnt have to listen to a message recording. I explained the damage to my carpet and asked when someone could arrive at my home to offer an estimate. \n\nTo my delight, later that afternoon Joe arrived. He was on time, knowledgeable about his products and services, and also very polite. He gave me an estimate for my damaged carpet and suggested furniture cleaning as well. I made the appointment for the carpet for the following day, but decided to wait on the furniture.\n\nThe next day, Jesse and Todd arrived at my home exactly on time as well. It turned out that my carpet repair was a bit more complicated than originally thought. Not to worry, Jesse performed exceptionally. In addition, I asked about when I could make an appointment for the furniture. My experience first with Joe, and then with Jesse and Todd sold me on the furniture as well. Todd then cleaned the furniture while Jesse made the repair. Finally, they cleaned my front walk-in carpet area where the hose had rested while cleaning the furniture. Obviously, to say the least, I am very impressed.\n\nThank You Again,\n\nSatisfied Customer\n\nPlease check out us out at stanelysteemer.com\n

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The time it takes professionals to clean carpets depends on the size of the room, the cleaning method, and how dirty the carpet is. You can expect carpet cleaning services to take 30 to 45 minutes per room, but it will vary based on these factors. Drying time depends on the method used, but it can range from 6 to 12 hours.

Yes, you can rent or buy a steam cleaner. A heavy-duty steam cleaner costs between $175 and $250 at most retail outlets and online. You can also usually rent one for around $40 per day.

Most of the larger machines you can rent from a hardware or grocery store have a larger water reserve and a heating element. Both operate by moving slowly and methodically over the carpet. Whether you rent or buy a unit, you will want to stay off your carpet for at least 12 to 24 hours while they dry.

It’s possible to DIY upholstery cleaning, but it’s usually best to leave the work to a professional. If you use aggressive cleaning solutions or are too rough with the material while trying to clean it, you could do permanent damage that demands repair or a full replacement. This issue is especially risky with more delicate materials, like leather, silk, and rayon. Some upholstery needs to be dry cleaned, and knowing how and when to use different cleaning methods is paramount for avoiding damage. A professional upholstery cleaner will know what products and methods are safe to use.

Eventually, vomit odors will go away on their own. However, it can take weeks for that to happen—unpleasant weeks. Using baking soda or commercially available carpet cleaner according to product directions will speed up the process.

Yes, steam cleaning can be an effective way to clean a couch, but whether it's recommended depends on the upholstery material. It is possible to steam clean some couches, particularly those made of durable fabrics like cotton or polyester. However, not all materials handle heat and moisture well; delicate fabrics such as silk and rayon should only be dry-cleaned to avoid damage.

Before you begin, always double-check your couch manufacturer’s cleaning recommendations. If steam cleaning is appropriate for your couch, opt for a gentle steam cleaner designed for fabric rather than a bulky carpet cleaner, and use the gentlest setting to prevent damage to the fabric and foam padding. Like with carpets, you may need to pretreat and spot-clean tougher stains.

While effective, steam cleaners can be expensive to buy or rent. If you are unsure about the material or the process, it's best to call a professional upholstery cleaning service to avoid causing damage.
