Conservation is in our name, in our culture, and in our commitment to our clients. Conserva Irrigation® proudly specializes in commercial and residential irrigation services and solutions that help alleviate the billions of gallons of water wasted every day due to irrigation system runoff. When you choose our eco-friendly services, you can save money, conserve water, and maintain a beautiful lawn all at the same time. Did you know that, out of all the water the average home uses every day, more than half of it is consumed by irrigation systems? This means that your sprinkler system likely accounts for more than half the cost of your water bill.

"Had Conserva Irrigation of Ann Arbor coming to my house for an assessment of sprinklers problem. The crew was polite and provided a detailed explanation about the necessary repair - they also informed I would receive a $75 invoice for their visit and later an estimate for the repair. However I received a charge $200 for their visit: $75 for the service call and $125 for their labor. I called their office to better understand the reason for the $200 and I was attended by a lady who was very rude and unable to provide an explanation... and hang up on me during the conversation. Nobody should be treated like this... especially a potential customer."

Franki’s sprinkler services with more than 10 years of experience… Install: Do you have a lush green lawn in the spring and fall but in the summer it turns brown no matter what you do? Franki’s installs sprinklers in Canton and nearby cities. Installing a sprinkler system can keep your lawn green during the toughest droughts. I use a variety of rotors, sprays or drip line to ensure that your lawn, shrubs, and flowers are getting proper water. I use trusted brands like Rainbird, Hunter, and Toro on our installs and service to insure we are installing a quality product. Start up and Winterization: If you have a sprinkler system installed I do service them. I do a spring turn on to ensure that everything is working correctly and to keep your system at its prime. In the fall I winterize the system for you. I start winterizing at the beginning of October and finish by mid November. Without a proper winterization water can freeze inside your sprinkler system and can cause the pipes, heads and valves to expand and possibly crack. Don’t take the risk and have the professionals winterize your irrigation system. Service: If in the middle of the season your sprinkler system leaks or breaks I can service that… I show up at your property and get your system back up and running. Any problem with your sprinkler system including: Broken pipes or fittings Repair or replace sprinkler timer (clock) Sprinkler winterization or start up Repair or replace broken or inoperative sprinkler heads Add new sprinkler heads or entire zone(s) of sprinkler heads Diagnose and repair low pressure problems Leaks found and eliminated Detect and repair cut wires Locate, repair or replace solenoids valves Check system for coverage and operation of all heads and zones I can install a sprinkler timer that you can control from your phone.

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

No. Both processes are important for a healthy yard and work toward a similar goal, although dethatching serves a slightly different purpose. Making sure the thatch doesn’t grow too thick prevents other lawn problems, such as attracting pests if the plant decay layer gets too big. Aeration puts less strain on your lawn than dethatching, but both are of equal importance.

Throwing grass seed on existing lawn isn’t likely to germinate, grow roots, or become healthy grass. You need to prep the soil, spread fertilizer with your seed, and sow the seed into the soil. Water the seed every day for two weeks to ensure it germinates and grows roots. Be sure to stay off the area and wait to mow until it reaches optimal height.

Each type of grass has its own specific needs regarding the timing of aeration, but in general, late summer to early fall is the best time to do so. For most lawns, that means sometime between September and November, though certain types of grass, like St. Augustine Grass, do better with aerations in late spring and early summer.

First, make sure you’re watering your grass early in the morning (and keep in mind you don’t have to water every day). Doing this helps ensure the water is able to soak in before the hot temps evaporate all of the water. Also, when you mow, don’t mow your grass as short as you would in non-drought conditions. Taller grass can help slow down the rate at which soil dries out. Finally, take your leftover lawn clippings and spread them out across the lawn to give it a little extra shade and nutrients.

One of the most effective ways to improve lawn absorption is to learn how to aerate your lawn. This is a process where you poke tiny holes all throughout it to break up tough soil and sediment, creating pathways for sunlight, water, air, and nutrients to seep into the plant’s roots. In turn, it promotes stronger root systems, making your lawn or plants less susceptible to pests and disease. Ideally, you’ll want to aerate your lawn at least once per year during the growing season—think late summer to early fall.
