"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"
"Speaking on behalf of our business, we were very pleased with the install of a new roof drain, replacing an old plugged drain and the removal of @ 50,000-pounds of water off our warehouse roof. We know shall need additional maintenance and roof repairs and D&L Commercial Roofing shall be our first choice to keep our old building in tip-top shape."
"Joe’s Roofing Solutions was the first company to respond to me. In addition , Joseph provided a very fair & reasonable quote to repair our roof. The roof had extensive damage yet Joseph had the experience necessary. His work is impressive & impeccable ! He cleaned up afterwards & is extremely professional & polite .
I would recommend Joe’s Roofing Solutions to anyone"
"While removing the old roof, the aluminum coverings on our mansard roof dormers were damaged. The roofing crew attempted to repair the damage but the result was not satisfactory. As compensation they deducted a small amount from the total bill."
"We called Rapid Home improvement about 3 months ago because two of our neighbors had recommended them highly. We didn't think we were going to get the work done this year because it was getting late in the year and there is usually snow, but this year the weather was really mild and it was actually 50+ degrees when they installed the roof. We have a almost flat roof and it leaks all the time no matter how many times we pay people to fix it. Mike came out and measured and checked out our whole house. It was very thorough. After we talked to him he recommended this Durolast stuff that is like a pool liner, but better and is made totally in Michigan. Long story short, we had no idea this even existed and we really liked that it was made locally. We had a lot of wood replaced because it was rotten and the guys also installed a lot of insulation. We could tell right away that the insulation was working. I'll update this review later after we have a few months of utilities to compare. Overall, we had a great experience. There were a couple of things that came up that we didn't anticipate, but Mike and the owner Bill handled them really quickly and professionally. It makes sense that this stuff comes up because we don't have an attic to check in and so we had no idea that we basically had no insulation in our roof at all. They gave us a really good price and we couldn't be happier. My husband and I would recommend them to anyone. Their price was good and they are honest. Just love it! "
"Very professional company, the Roofers arrived 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. They completed my roof in a timely manner and did an excellent job cleaning up the debris and nails. Thank You."
"Great job replacing my roof. Price was good. The crew was very professional, worked quickly and were careful in cleaning up the yard after they were fiinished. Next month they will replace 21 windows in my home."
The common formula for measuring a roof is length x width equals square footage. Professional roofers measure the length and width of your roof, including dormers, and determine its pitch and rafter sizes. If a roof surface is a triangle, they’ll divide that square footage by two, then add up the square footage of each surface to get the total for the roof.
It’s possible to walk on a clay tile roof, but you run the risk of breaking or cracking the tiles if you’re not careful, so it’s best not to walk on it if you can avoid it. If you or a contractor needs roof access, be sure to distribute your weight evenly and step on the portions of tile that are also supported underneath, which depends on your tile design. Walking on any roofing material is inherently dangerous, so wear rubber-soled shoes and use safety equipment if you need to access your roof.
Roll roofs don’t last as long as traditional roofs, like those made of asphalt shingles. A roll roof typically lasts between five and 15 years, whereas a shingled roof will last between 20 and 50 years. Modified bitumen roofs are similar in look to rolled roofing but have a 12 to 15 year warranty.
A well-maintained tile roof can last anywhere from 40 to over 100 years, with its exact lifespan depending on the material and level of care. Proper maintenance, which includes keeping the roof clean, free of debris, and performing routine repairs for any cracked tiles, is crucial for longevity. The lifespan varies significantly by tile type:
Clay, terracotta, and slate tiles are highly durable and can last over 100 years.
Concrete tiles typically last from 30 to 100 years.
Metal tile roofs generally last between 40 and 70 years.
Composite tile roofs have a lifespan of 20 to 50 years.
Be aware that maintenance for a tile roof can sometimes be more expensive than for an asphalt roof.
Roof work is dangerous and exacting, and a misstep could lead to even more costly repairs, so we do not recommend DIYing. If you are dead set on giving it a go, practice safety measures. Wear a harness, only work during mild weather, and have a partner to help. Potentially DIY-friendly jobs include patching up small leaks, sealing areas around the chimney, and replacing a few shingles.
