"I was extremely pleased with everything from start to finish. I would give the highest grades for the service, including tree maintenance, advice and cleanup, and for the professionalism, including scheduling and arrival, on-site communication and honest pricing. Robert has provided tree service for me on multiple occasions and I would recommend Robert to anyone in need of professional and expert service."

"We hired Newscape Forestry to take down most of a large dead tree and numerous dead limbs from a second large tree in the yard of our new home. They showed up on time, did an outstandingly professional job and were very accommodating to our desire to preserve as much of the 2nd tree as possible. Their estimate was very competitive and their cleanup impeccable. The crew was also very pleasant and a pleasure to work with. We can enthusiastically recommend Newscape Forestry to anyone in need of tree removal and maintenance services."

"I heard of this company through a NextDoor app customer. They were exactly as the person had raved about! I requested a quote and was contacted the next day! Ed came out and quoted the job and thoroughly explained how they would remove our 45ft tree. A week later I get a call they are on their way and 3 hours later the tree is gone and the only remnant is the broken ground where the stump was removed. I am over the moon happy with the job! I highly recommend this company."

"Had our huge silver maple trees trimmed today by Spears Tree & Crane Service and would highly recommend.. Justin and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job â they were prompt, professional, courteous.. My yard looks cleaner than it did before the limbs came down. Iâ ve had awful luck the past few years with hired services and these guys have restored my faith. Give them a call with any tree care needs you may have. â ¤"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Pruning trees is important for several reasons. It improves tree health and strength by removing dead, diseased, or unwanted branches, which in turn encourages new growth and can help treat disease. For fruit trees, proper pruning can lead to a larger and better-quality harvest. Pruning also enhances safety by removing weak limbs that could break and fall, potentially causing injury or property damage, especially during storms. Beyond these functional benefits, pruning can also improve a tree's appearance. To ensure pruning is done correctly for the tree's long-term health, consider hiring a professional.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.

An arborist specializes in tree care, performing tasks such as pruning, treating diseases, and removing hazardous trees. They also assess soil conditions, plant trees, and develop landscaping plans to ensure healthy growth. They also manage debris cleanup, inspect equipment, and record maintenance activities. Arborists often collaborate with landscapers and professional tree maintenance services, applying their specialized knowledge and problem-solving skills to maintain tree health and safety.

Most tree surgeons cost around $100 per hour or between $70 and $200 per hour for their services. You might get flat fees for more straightforward services, like a tree assessment, tree removal, stump grinding, and one-off treatments, but many times, treatments for tree diseases or pests will be charged based on an hourly rate or a per-visit rate. Since the cost of a tree surgeon can vary widely, it’s best to speak with an arborist near you to get an idea of what your particular issue will cost to correct.
