"I was extremely pleased with everything from start to finish. I would give the highest grades for the service, including tree maintenance, advice and cleanup, and for the professionalism, including scheduling and arrival, on-site communication and honest pricing. Robert has provided tree service for me on multiple occasions and I would recommend Robert to anyone in need of professional and expert service."

"The crew was fast and efficient. I was especially impressed with the care they took with clean up, not only at the site of the tree that was taken down but also at the area used for shredding the branches and trunk. And the charge was very reasonable. I definitely would recommend this service."

"I heard of this company through a NextDoor app customer. They were exactly as the person had raved about! I requested a quote and was contacted the next day! Ed came out and quoted the job and thoroughly explained how they would remove our 45ft tree. A week later I get a call they are on their way and 3 hours later the tree is gone and the only remnant is the broken ground where the stump was removed. I am over the moon happy with the job! I highly recommend this company."

Justin and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job â they were prompt, professional, courteous.. My yard looks cleaner than it did before the limbs came down. Iâ ve had awful luck the past few years with hired services and these guys have restored my faith. Give them a call with any tree care needs you may have. â ¤"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You can find pruning paints and sealants for trees, but you shouldn’t use them on a topped tree. Coatings like these often inhibit the tree’s healing process. An important exception is if there are dangerous fungi nearby that the tree is particularly vulnerable to, like oaks and oak wilt. Sealing cuts can help prevent fungi from taking root.

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.
