"Lower Peninsula Sealcoating did a great job on my 2100 sq ft driveway. Communication was good as they kept me informed of the process and arrived at the agreed upon time. The job included repairing a pot hole as well as filling cracks and sealcoating. Throughout, they were efficient, professional and pleasant. "These guys were GREAT! Called them to correct a flowerbed disaster from another contractor, who I did not want anything to do with anymore. The sales rep Adam was fantastic, straight forward, honest and really cared that the job will be done correctly and that I would be completely satisfied with their work. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They said the job would take two days and it did. When it was done, they power washed and re-sanded the patio pavers gratis. My patio never looked so good. These guys were so good and so professional. I'd hire these guy again in a second."

The recommended minimum amount for a paver base is 4 inches. From there, it depends on the kind of traffic the pavers will see and the current soil conditions. Two inches of paver base won’t create the amount of stability and support that pavers need to remain securely in place over time.

If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting. 

You should place a layer of thick landscaping fabric directly over the concrete slab and then a thin layer of leveling sand over that to protect the pavers from moisture. For border pavers, you should plan on locking them in place with polyurethane adhesive. This will prevent them from shifting under foot traffic.
