"Asked them to repave a driveway for a tenant. So far tenant has reported that they like the new driveway. Communication between me and them was Great. I was able to schedule an inspection quickly, they kept me updated on when they started working and when they were finished. They were timely and stuck to the project schedule. Even moved it up when they found an opening."

"Concrete was between 6-12" thick which meant Dan and his crew had to bring in more gravel then grade it to the right pitch for water drainage. So far, all is good."

"Outstanding! Vance did a great job designing the perfect landscaping for our new home. He carefully selected plants and shrubs that complimented our home with color throughout the seasons. Vance was always professional and always available via text, email, or phone which is a rarity these days since the start of the pandemic. He always made it a point to stop by and follow up on the work each day. When on site with his Installation team, he always treated them with respect and created a sense of teamwork that you could feel. When the job was completed, he walked us through on how to take care of each of the plants as well as he offered his services to answer any questions that we might have in the future. Jesus and his install team were professional, responsive, timely, meticulous, and a pleasure to work with. We have received lots of questions about who completed the work and we are proud to recommend Vance and his team from Design One. We have received so many compliments from our neighbors. There are a lot of choices when it comes to selecting a landscaping company and we are PROUD of the decision we made to select Design One."

"I've been a licensed contractor for over 30 years with a 5-star rating myself, so I rarely take the time to write reviews unless it's flawless work. Height Control gave me a 10-star service from start to finish. Brain was as professional as they come. Without blinking an eye with the add on that I requested thru out my project; he never gave an unreasonable price for any of the work but most importantly didn't overextend the timeframe. His crew came out and did a exceptional job in a timely fashion. We ordered a massive natural 6ft stone step for our front porch which three other companies estimated that it couldn't be done due to the concrete foundation having the potential to crack. His crew came out and laid it without any incident. I highly recommend Height Control for ALL your landscaping needs. I promise you they will not disappoint!! "Danny and the N & T crew did an excellent job landscaping around our deck and cleaning up and mulching our garden beds. They were friendly, professional, on time, creative and worked well to incorporate our ideas with some improvements. Danny communicated well with us from start to finish. Paving Services questions, answered by experts

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.
