"I've been a licensed contractor for over 30 years with a 5-star rating myself, so I rarely take the time to write reviews unless it's flawless work. Height Control gave me a 10-star service from start to finish. Brain was as professional as they come. Without blinking an eye with the add on that I requested thru out my project; he never gave an unreasonable price for any of the work but most importantly didn't overextend the timeframe. His crew came out and did a exceptional job in a timely fashion. We ordered a massive natural 6ft stone step for our front porch which three other companies estimated that it couldn't be done due to the concrete foundation having the potential to crack. His crew came out and laid it without any incident. I highly recommend Height Control for ALL your landscaping needs. I promise you they will not disappoint!! "I had Art and his team help me repair my patio. They went above and beyond. After seeing their work I know they have years of experience with not only brick repair but in masonry as a whole. They were kind and helpful. They also made sure I knew what they were doing from start to finish. My patio is stunning and looks brand new. They were able to match my brick color and everything! I, without a doubt, will be a returning customer of theirs. Thank you!!!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

The best way to stop your pavers from sinking is to ensure you've properly compacted the base layers. Use your paver compactor and work over the base layer several times to create the hardest possible base. If the soil and sand of your base are compact, you’ll experience less shifting and sinking.

Compared to options like concrete, asphalt, and pavers, resin driveways are far more flexible. As a result, they are more durable against chipping and cracking. Their bonded surface allows them to withstand extreme cold and heat without succumbing to the warping or cracking caused by freeze-thaw cycles. In addition, resin driveways are easy to clean and maintain.

The average cost of 1,500 square feet of asphalt ranges from about $10,500 to $22,500, depending on location, thickness, base material, and how accessible the job site is to crews and equipment. Keep in mind that your asphalt material cost may vary depending on its type, ranging from porous asphalt to heated blacktop. Standard asphalt costs $7 to $13 per square foot.

Decomposed granite and caliche can both harden into a solid surface using a plate compactor. However, due to decomposed granite’s fine particles, it’s not suitable for driveway surfaces. Some homeowners use pea gravel mixed with a gravel-binding resin to bind the loose stones and create a solid surface that won’t shift like loose gravel.

Pavers are a type of permeable hardscape that can be used for driveways, patios, walkways, and other landscaping features. Unlike poured concrete or asphalt, pavers typically have a layer of gravel underneath to prevent water runoff from damaging your property—though you can also lay pavers on grass. Because pavers are installed piece by piece, you can customize a one-of-a-kind hardscape that best suits your aesthetics, boosting your curb appeal along the way.
