"Wow! I wish I could provide 10 stars for Epic Floors and Sam Hazime. As someone who has done numerous renovations, this has been the absolute BEST experience I've EVER had with a contractor... and most of it was done long distance! From the very first phone call explaining my needs to seeing the completed project and meeting Sam in person, I have been thoroughly impressed. The knowledge, responsiveness, helpfulness, and all- around customer service has been excellent. My floors are beautiful and they were installed in one day! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Epic Floors for your flooring needs. You will be elated with the process and the results. TEN STARS!!!"

"I needed to get new floors in my home and I could not be happier with the work Naim and his crew did when installing my new flooring. Naim and his crew were prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. They quickly and carefully removed furniture from each room and got to work immediately. I greatly appreciated how hard each of them worked to get this job finished to my expectations. Even when the job went longer than expected, Naim and his crew continued working late into the day in order to finish the job to my liking. I am so impressed with the work Naim and his crew did for me, I will request for Naim and his crew come back for additional flooring I have planned in the future. I would strongly recommend Naim and his crew for any flooring project you have planned. Their level of professionalism and attention to detail is unquestionable and I could not be happier with the final results."

"Fournier is the absolute best! Our main project was the refinishing 3 floors of 100 year old oak floors and wow are they beautiful! Fournier also installed new flooring that was a perfect match and repaired as needed. Wonderful business and even better humans. Feel comfortable in their hands. 16+ years of experience and it shows!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

You can tell a carpet is good quality if it’s made of a soft, durable material and has a good face weight and density. When comparing two similar carpets, the higher the face weight, the more durable the carpet tends to be. The same goes for carpet density. A higher density of two similar carpets often indicates better quality. The ideal carpet face weight and density values depend on the carpet material and type.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Yes, you can put rugs and carpet on heated floors. However, carpet is not the most efficient for heated floors. The carpet pad and pile can prevent the heat from penetrating into the room. Rugs may also prevent heat from reaching your feet. You will get the most from your heated floors if you use thin rugs so that a maximum amount of heat can penetrate the room. You may find you do not need rugs to warm a space, thanks to the radiant heat coming up through your feet.

What a buyer prefers usually depends on the home’s layout and which material fits the current aesthetic. The local real estate market can also dictate these desires to some extent, as do the buyer’s personal preferences. With that said, laminate can increase the resale value of a home by a tiny bit, whereas carpet does not. Hardwood increases the resale value by the highest amount.

It’s possible to reuse household materials to cover floors, but they won’t provide the same level of protection as dedicated materials. They’re also more difficult to tape down and more prone to slipping and bunching up—and any dirt or debris on them could scratch or stain your floors. That being said, extra materials like these can be useful for protecting the sides of furniture and placing in areas that could use added protection.
