"This is the second time we have used My Handyman of Ann Arbor for home projects and couldn't be happier with the results. Kirk installed 3 new lights in our kitchen, he was professional and finished in just a few hours. Great job and we will be hiring My Handyman of Ann Arbor again for sure!"
"Gary and his crew took my project on short notice, arrived on time each day and did an excellent job - above and beyond my expectations. They are absolute pros as well as friendly and polite. I feel very lucky that I found and hired them and will definitely contact them again for any future work I need done."
"Lee is the best, hands down. I own a rental property in Ferndale and the city requires an inspection of the fireplace every two years. Lee is the only person I have ever used and he is always on time, super friendly, always does a great job cleaning the fireplace and then cleaning up. I've also used him for the random one off repair like patching broken concrete steps and also patching around the foundation of my brick house. He is fair, has great pricing, does a great job, and is a wonderful guy. Look no further than Lee, trust me! "
"Jeff, Will and Tim did an amazing job! They were very professional and the painting they did is beautiful. The price was very reasonable. They were respectful to our home and cleaned up every night before leaving. I highly recommend using them!"
"Excellent work, fast, left my wood chimney looking clean and ready for use and even gave advice on how to use it properly and ensure it lasts a long time. Will hire again."
"Bob Gray and his team at 4-Ever Water-Tite did amazing work on our basement. I fully recommend this company without hesitation for any basement waterproofing, plumbing, or foundation work. The team was extremely knowledgeable and skilled, professional, courteous, and just good people all around. Bob was able to schedule our project in quickly and it was completed within three days. The work that was completed was exceptional, as well as the clean-up. The price was also very reasonable and the work has a lifetime transferable warranty."
"Imagine you are in the middle of painting your house and the painter refuses to repair the chimney because it was so bad. I fortunately contacted Specialty. I was given 3 weeks to review by other companies but Nosh not only came that evening, he left to look to match 50+year old bricks AND he was by my house at 7:30 the following morning AND tore down and replaced my entire chimney in less than 48 hours and did a skillful masterful job, (we are not related, I am just super happy to have contracted Specialty"
"Hirsch did an outstanding job on our deck. Very professional, they cleaned up after themselves every day, and were a joy to be around. Great group of guys, would hire them again in a heartbeat. Price was very reasonable too. Hire these guys, you won't be disappointed."
"This was our first experience using Elysium to complete both interior and exterior painting and repair work. Initially we had only contracted them to do work on the exterior, being satisfied with the level of detail and the likability of the crew that we worked with, we opted to sign on for additional work on the interior of our house. Exterior: Being new homeowners we wanted to make sure that we were being thorough and getting the most longevity out of the work that we were investing in. The estimator that Elysium sent out was very knowledgeable and pointed out failures in the existing paint job as well as several wood repairs that several other estimators had failed to recognize. There were areas of rotten wood concealed by paint, the estimator did what she called a ?pen? test and took her ink pen and was able to push it through the fascia boards on our chimney with no effort. This happened on several areas of the house that other contractors had failed to discover or address in their estimates. With the discovery of so much carpentry work needed, we did see a significant increase in the estimate in terms of cost, in order to have the longest lasting and best-finished product possible the wood needed to be replaced, had we not received an estimate from Elysium we may have not discovered the rotten wood until after another contractor had cut corners in order to give us a lower price point to close the sale. The work itself was done thoroughly, prep to finish. Between the color change, board replacement and concise prep and finish work that Elysium did on our place, it looks like a brand new house. Interior: Since we were so pleased with the result of the work being done on our exterior, we had Kevin and his crew complete additional work on the interior of our home. The tacky wallpaper that had been in our kitchen when we moved in needed to go. I was going to attempt to remedy its existence myself; after several hours off attempting to remove the wallpaper myself I decided to let the professionals handle it. Underneath the wallpaper the drywall needed to be repaired in several areas. Elysium was able to smooth out the wall underneath and apply a fresh coat of paint. They also painted our 2-story foyer and hallways. Elysium completed a lot of work on our house, and it was a job well done. I would recommend them for any paint project you?ve got!
"Got the whole package for LESS than the price of JUST the roof quoted from another company. We loved their competitive pricing. Roof looks great. Installs were scheduled quickly. An energy audit was included and qualified us for extra rebates! Bonus! Happy customer!"
Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:
Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.
Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.
Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.
Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.
To make the gazebo accessible, you can build a wheelchair pathway leading up to it. The path should be paved with a smooth surface for wheelchairs to roll through. A low curb should be placed along each side to ensure the wheelchair stays on the path. At the end of the path, build a wheelchair ramp connecting the gazebo.
The main purpose of a gazebo is to provide a covered space for people to gather comfortably. They’re an excellent place for summertime get-togethers because the roof protects you and your guests from the sun. However, gazebos can also serve as a design feature, adding a bit of charm to a backyard or garden.
Yes, many gazebos are permanent structures built onto the land. However, if you have a portable gazebo that isn’t secured to the ground, you’ll want to check the manufacturer’s instructions to understand when to put it away. Generally speaking, when it’s particularly windy or wet outside, you should take down your temporary gazebo.
Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.
